Marat Fayzullin has release a new version of his AlmostTI port for android. AlmostTI emulates various graphing Texas Instruments calculator based on Z80.
Quote:
The new version of my TI graphing calcs emulator, AlmostTI 2.3.3, has been published to the Google Play today:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...id=com.fms.ati
This is a rather significant update, adding DropBox support to the app, so that you can save your work to the DropBox account and continue it on a different Android device. Furthermore, I have finally fixed the infamous black bar problem TI85/TI86 users had in the magnified mode. Finally, the last problems with model detection should be gone now. AlmostTI will analyze your firmware ROM and automatically select the correct calculator model.
- Finally fixed TI85/TI86 display in the magnified mode.
- Fixed model recognition on the native side (how did I break it in the first place?).
- Added DropBox support to the ROM Selector.
- Added new-styled action bar, consistent with toolbar.
- Added "Upload to DropBox" menu option to save state to DropBox.
- Added "Download from DropBox" menu option to load state from DropBox.

When Samsung announced the Galaxy Note 10.1, everyone at Engadget was intrigued. Even more so, when the company postponed the launch for a radical redesign, a "predesign," if you will. When it arrived, it had the potential to be a Wacom-beater, a graphics tablet that you worked wherever you could and had the power to match. When handed to our critic, however, he found that the unit was priced around $100 higher than it should have been, with a set-up that screamed "enthusiast" rather than "mainstream." The question is, brothers and sisters, if your experiences with the Galaxy Note 10.1 have been better or worse than his? Share your stories in the comments below.

Android users worried that the government is spying on their smartphone now have a new privacy option: CyanogenMod. Starting with today's nightly 10.2 build, the custom firmware will encrypt SMS and MMS messages sent to any device using the TextSecure protocol, including fellow Cyanogen users. Users won't have to do a thing; the cryptography runs automatically in the background, regardless of the text messaging app. The encryption won't reach CyanogenMod 11 or other releases until the company is confident that everything is running smoothly, but it shouldn't be long before many Android users can chat with a greater level of secrecy.

The vice president of the European Commission's Competition unit has warned Nokia not to become a 'patent troll'. Nokia is in the process of selling its devices business to Microsoft, giving rise to fears that the remaining part of Nokia will make more aggressive use of its patents portfolio. Vice president Joaquin Almunia said that the commission had dismissed the possibility that 'Nokia would be tempted to behave like a patent troll' when it cleared the way for Microsoft to acquire Nokia's devices division – but warned that 'if Nokia were to take illegal advantage of its patents in the future, we will open an antitrust case.' 'I sincerely hope we will not have to,' said Almunia."

Apple has begun using its iBeacon retail technology in its US stores.
The technology uses the existing Apple Store app to track consumers’ locations in the shop, and can help them find the product they’re looking for, or suggest something they might like to look at instead.
After permission for the app to contact them is granted, consumers will receive messages about products and events based on where they are stood inside the shop – for instance it might suggest an iPhone upgrade as they pass a table advertising the iPhone 5S.
iBeacon can also notify customers when their order is ready to pick up, with the standard Apple Store app able to be used to pay for some products even without iBeacon support.
The iOS 7-only app uses Bluetooth and a number of iBeacon transmitters to track consumers’ locations, avoiding the issues that GPS tracking suffers when indoors.
While the technology may raise privacy concerns for some, Apple has stated that no data is collected via the technology, with notifications triggered when the app is brought within range of a transmitter – meaning the transmitter doesn’t need to receive any information from the phone.
However, should the technology flourish, more specific and in-depth assistance could be offered, as long as users opt into use of their shopping data.

Google is reportedly planning to launch its own Nexus-branded set-top box in the first half of 2014.
According to The Information, the Nexus TV will stream video from services like Hulu and Netflix, run on Android and also allow users to play video games.
Google has already released one streaming device, the Chromecast – a memory stick-sized HDMI plug-in that can stream content to a TV. It requires a mobile device or computer with a Chrome browser to operate it.
But the Nexus TV will reportedly have a motion sensor and support Google Hangouts for video conferencing, and will not require any external devices to operate.
Once released, the Nexus TV will have to compete with the likes of Apple TV and Roku.

We know a good game when we see one. That is why we made Despicable Me: Minion Rush app of the day, and followed the progress the app.
Hitting yet another milestone, the Gameloft – ME Award winner – and Universal production has reached 150 million downloads.
If that wasn’t enough, it also also awarded the game of the year in the 2013 BAFTA Kids.
Gonzague De Vallois, VP of publishing at Gameloft, said: “Despicable Me: Minion Rush was warmly received upon its release, which was already a fantastic reward in itself for all the teams who worked on this project at Gameloft, Universal and Illumination Entertainment.”
A fifth update to the game is on the horizon, allowing players to inject some festive spirit into their Minion rushing with more costumes, quests, plus much more.

So far, the ability to wirelessly stream the display of an Android phone or tablet to your TV has been limited to solutions like Miracast, but information spotted by Cyanogen Inc. cofounder Koushik Dutta suggests that will change soon. Dutta, who has been working on a similar feature (embedded after the break) for CyanogenMod 11 with AirPlay support, posted notes from the Android 4.4.1 patches showing APIs related to the capture of video output from the device. Currently mirroring from a Chrome browser tab on a PC to Google's HDMI dongle works, but so far on mobile devices it's been locked down to just supported apps. Unfortunately, what he's seeing also indicates this API will keep things locked down to approved devices, so setting up receivers for other hardware like an Apple TV or Roku might not work. Between this feature, the Cast SDK that we hope will open up access to more developers and services, Chromecast support for the platform formerly known as Google TV and rumors of a Nexus TV set-top box, our list of most-anticipated TV announcements from Google is starting to get full.

A number of images of an alleged iPhone controller from Razer have leaked online.
The images, tweeted by @evleaks, are said to show a prototype controller dubbed the Razer Kazuyo.
PrevNext1 of 3
The case appears to wrap around an iPhone, offering a D-Pad, four fire buttons and two shoulder buttons.
There also seems to be a separate section, featuring a power button and speakers, which the phone attaches to and can be tilted upwards on a hinge to a 45 degree angle.
Evleaks also claims the buttons are backlit and that the face buttons are pressure-sensitive.
When Apple launched iOS 7 in June, support for third-party gaming controllers was added to the operating system.
A subsequently leaked image suggested Logitech was working on a compatible controller.
Earlier this year, Razer released its own gaming tablet, dubbed the Razer Edge, with prices starting at $999.

Ad platform NativeX will sell the advertising as part of its network offering.
NativeX has partnered with Sega of America and Sega of Europe to further the reach of its Native mobile Advertising network around the world.
The ad technology will be integrated into Sonic Dash - previous ME App of the Day - where NativeX will sell the advertising space as part of its network offer.
The technology includes multiple native ad formats such as interstitial, banner, offer wall, rich media and HD video – all of which merge with the game’s user experience seamlessly, in one software development kit.
Mike Evans, senior director of digital marketing at Sega, said: “Creating an amazing gaming experience for our customers is our top priority. NativeX truly understands the challenges of protecting the user experience while monetising through advertising.”
More than 20,000 new apps and games are added to the App Store each day, meaning users are increasingly turning to recognised companies and developers such as Sega, and putting trust in them not to flood their software with ads.
The partnership with NativeX will enable Sega to earn revenue from ads whilst living up to the users expectations and maintaining a decent user experience.

Cut the Rope 2, the sequel to the physics-based puzzler from Zeptolab, will launch as a universal app on iOS December 19.
The first artwork for the game, visible in the gallery below, shows the return of Om Nom, the candy-crazed protagonist of the first game, but he's also brought along some friends. Not much else about the sequel is known, but if you load up the original Cut the Rope right now, you'll notice a suspicious lack of Om Nom, who has been oddly replaced by a pair of spiders.

The NewConsole Age and Black Friday Age are dead, let the Dragon Age begin;Heroes of Dragon Age, a free-to-play strategy game developed and published by EA, is now available on the Google Play and iTunes stores.
Heroes of Dragon Age combines elements from strategy games, collectible card games and traditional RPGs by having players earn - or purchase - a collection of heroes with varying stats, which they then mix and match before heading into combat with them. The characters are rendered as 3D models arranged in lines across the battlefield, and the fights themselves play out automatically.
The next proper installment in the Dragon Age franchise, Dragon Age: Inquisition, isn't due until fall of 2014, so you've got plenty of time to start collecting. No need to be dragon your feet, huh? Huh?

Two can play the OS statistics game, it seems. Just a couple of days after Google noted that 1.1 percent of Android devices visiting Google Play are running KitKat, Apple has revealed that 74 percent of recent App Store customers are using iOS 7. That's a healthy 10-point improvement over what we saw in October, when 64 percent were running Cupertino's newest platform. The differences in OS adoption rates aren't totally surprising, mind you. Apple is targeting a narrower pool of hardware, doesn't have to wait for third-party approvals and recently launched two new iPads that could easily boost iOS 7 adoption. Android by its nature targets a wider range of devices and software interfaces that won't always receive updates at the same time. We wouldn't expect a big spike in KitKat use until larger phone makers like HTC and Samsung throw their full weight behind Google's latest platform.

The market for keyboard-equipped phones may be on the wane, but don't tell that to Ryan Seacrest -- the American Idol host is convinced that messaging mavens need real buttons. To that end, he's jumping into hardware and launching the Typo Keyboard for the iPhone 5 and 5s. The Bluetooth case turns an Apple handset into a makeshift BlackBerry Q10, complete with backlit, sculpted keys that cover up the iPhone's home button (there's a small substitute key); we hope you don't need multitasking, folks. The Typo Keyboard will make its formal debut at CES in early January, and it should ship that month for $99. Thankfully, that means we'll escape a sales pitch during New Year's Rockin' Eve.

Cyber Monday may be behind us, but there are always some hackable, inexpensive electronics to be had. [Stephen's] wireless Android/Arduino outlet hack may be the perfect holiday project on the cheap, especially considering you can once again snag the right remote controlled outlets from Home Depot. This project is similar to other remote control outlet builds we’ve seen here, but for around $6 per outlet: a tough price to beat.
[Stephen] Frankenstein’d an inexpensive RF device from Amazon into his build, hooking the Arduino up to the 4 pins on the transmitter. The first step was to reverse engineer the communication for the outlet, which was accomplished through some down and dirtyArduino logic analyzing. The final circuit included a standard Arduino Ethernet shield, which [Stephen] hooked up to his router and configured to run as a web server. Most of the code was borrowed from the RC-Switch outlet project, but the protocols from that build are based on US standards and did not quite fit [Stephen's] needs, so he turned to a similar Instructables project to work out the finer details.
Stick around after the break for a quick video demonstration, then check out another wireless outlet hack for inspiration.
