i do not own a n-gage for one reason they look rubbish
the only way they have sold a few copies is because of its games
if it is so good why did they not fit a camera to it
i can't believe people said it could be a contender for the gameboy
they are highly overpriced

Mobile handset giant Nokia has reported a fall of almost six per cent in its global sales during the second quarter, and dropped its full-year forecasts; while the company plans to showcase its N-Gage range at the Edinburgh Festival next month.[br][br]Shares in the Finnish company tumbled by almost 16 per cent on the Helsinki stock exchange after the company reported results for the three months to June 30th which included a 5.7 per cent drop in revenues.[br][br]Despite the falling revenues, the firm reported that profits grew some 14 per cent in the quarter, and it still holds some 31 per cent of the worldwide mobile market - but earnings are expected to continue to slump through the rest of the year, with the revenue forecast for the current quarter slashed in half.[br][br]On a more positive note for the company, it today announced its intention to showcase the software line-up for the N-Gage platform at the Edinburgh International Games Festival in Scotland next month, as part of the Go Play Games exhibition at the Edinburgh Royal Museum.[br][br]The exhibition, which will run from the 8th to the 22nd of August, will include a number of pre-release titles for the platform such as Crash Nitro Kart, Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon - Jungle Storm and Operation Shadow, as well as the first ever consumer event appearance of Sega's mobile massively multiplayer title, Pocket Kingdom: Own The World.

Please, someone help me!!! I can`t pay the WAP because it`s too expensive so i must download everything wit my PC (that wouldn`t be a problem if I wouldn`t need Java installers in PC suite because if i transfer Java to n-gage (on MMC - long story) i can-t install it. Nokia informed us that its latest addition to the N-Gage platform, the N-Gage QD game deck, is now available in retail outlets. [br][br]The N-Gage QD game deck is a pocketable device with a hot-swappable multimedia (MMC) slot for instant gaming, longer battery life, improved gaming controls, brighter screen, powerful smartphone features and the new N-Gage Arena launcher application. Gamers can play all of their favorite N-Gage titles, connect to the worldwide mobile gaming community over mobile networks via the N-Gage Arena, and take part in close-range mobile multiplayer gaming via Bluetooth wireless technology. [br]"The N-Gage QD game deck shows that Nokia is fully committed to the N-Gage platform," said Nada Usina, general manager, Games Business, North & South America for Nokia, "With our AAA Titles and the N-Gage Arena, the N-Gage QD offers gamers a true mobile gaming experience. Coupled with the level of support that the N-Gage QD is receiving from both the traditional games outlets and mobile phone outlets, we believe that we are creating something totally new." [br]The N-Gage QD game deck supports existing N-Gage hits like Spider-Man 2, The Sims Bustin' Out, and Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2004 as well as upcoming exclusive N-Gage titles like Pathway to Glory and Pocket Kingdom: Own the World. [br][br]The N-Gage QD is now available for as low as $99.99, and comes bundled with Tony Hawk's Pro Skater.[br][br]Thanks to Gameseek (suppliers of the Nokia N-Gage QD) for the news.

Nokia announced today it has finally sent its N-Gage update, the QD, to retailers. Already available everywhere else in the world, the new model is an updated version of the original N-Gage model released in October of last year. The new model corrects a number of design flaws that hampered sales of the original N-Gage. As an added incentive, the game deck comes bundled with a copy of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater. [br][br][br]The game deck/cell phone-hybrid is now available at a slew of retailers, including most EB Games and GameStop outlets, and online at EBgames.com, Gamestop.com, Walmart.com, and Buy.com. Almost all are offering the device with either an instant or mail-in rebate (with activation) that brings the QD's price down from an MSRP of $199.99 to $99.99. Currently, T-Mobile is the only carrier that supports the phone, but Nokia says customers will have the option to tap into the AT&T Wireless network "soon." [br][br]In a statement, Nada Usina, Nokia's general manager, Games Business, North & South America said, "The N-Gage QD game deck shows that Nokia is fully committed to the N-Gage platform." After the device suffered from critical reviews and tepid sakes when it launched last year, Nokia quickly went to work to rework the N-Gage. Since then, Usina and other Nokia staffers have assured media and industry reps that the QD would not suffer the same fate as its predecessors. Now, it’s up to the consumers whether or not that happens.

Blackfrog gave me this news in IRC for all Nokia Ngage and Cellphone emu/homebrew fans:[br][br] celldev.com has just announced a content contest to kick some life into their cellphone development site, and the cellphone development scene in general. From the site:[br][br][br]Beginning today I am running a Content Contest. Submissions accepted will be Tutorials, Tools, and Software.[br][br]The idea of this site is to help people learn more about cell phone development, so all Software submissions require that source code is provided for user viewing. You will still retain all rights to all submissions other than all submissions will be made available on the Celldev website free of charge.[br][br]The winners will be decided by a panel of 3 judges selected by myself. The judges will not be allowed to participate in the contest since this would remove credibility from the outcome.[br][br]There will be a cash prize to the 1st place winner in the amount of $100.00. This is not a huge prize, but I am paying this out of my own pocket.[br][br][br]Check out http://www.celldev.com for more details and to enter.

Looking at the original N-Gage design, one doesn't have to squint to see areas in need of improvement. Kudos to Nokia for making a big, fat list of all the fixer-uppers on the game deck, and setting out to make things right. The labor of their love, the N-Gage QD, is now available for you, me, and everyone else to bring into our homes and our hearts. [br][br]The tiny, dense QD just feels better in your hands. It's actually not a whole lot smaller than the initial design, but seems to fit in your pocket much easier. Also, the face is cleaned up, getting rid of or shrinking down certain buttons. The number buttons are smaller, but this actually makes them easier to reach. The d-pad is smoother, and no longer has the push-in feature (instead, an Enter button sits where the music/radio/desktop buttons used to be). [br][br]Speaking of music functionality, that feature has gone bye-bye. I personally don't miss it, and I imagine most gamers won't, either. To actually take advantage of the MP3 player, you had to buy a bigger memory card. FM radios are as common as flies at a barbecue, so it was a superfluous feature. [br][br]Having to remove the back panel and battery to change games is something we all can agree never should have been allowed to exist. After using the hot-swapping functionality of the QD, I forgive Nokia their trespasses. Just pop games in and out, and access them with one touch form the interface screen. It's really the way things should be. [br][br] [br]See that? Learn to love it. [br] [br][br]N-Gage Arena has also been made much easier to get to. It's now the top selection on the deck's "desktop." You will no longer have to log in through games exclusively, and it's much easier to take advantage of the community aspects without the runaround. This launcher can also be downloaded for old-school N-Gages, by the way. [br][br]No longer will you be embarrassed to receive phone calls on your N-Gage. The QD may not fit the contours of your face like a traditional cell phone, but it is a drastic improvement over Taco Talk 2000. However, the more pasty-faced QD owners may get some cheese on the screen, as it comes in contact with your cheek -- so always have a tissue handy for wiping. [br][br]My only beef with the QD is its interface. To me, it almost looks unfinished, to the point where I was initially unsure if mine was still a beta version or not. I guess this is a "less is more" approach, but I'd rather have the icons take advantage of the extensive color palette of the N-Gage. This is such a minor complaint, though. The QD is bomb-diggity, and is worth a purchase for the N-Gage curious or hardcore N-Gageketeers. After all, you can just swap SIM cards and be back on track. The price point is looking to range between $100 and $200, which really isn't too bad. It even seems like the excellent Tony Hawk's Pro Skater is being commonly offered as a pack-in.
