Developer Psyonix's Arc Squadron, a Star Fox-esque arcade combat game running on Unreal Engine, will update to Arc Squadron Redux on October 17. The $2.99 app for iOS and Android will drop its price to free dollars.
"We are also proud to offer our community a new and improved version of the game with lots of playability tweaks and bug fixes to make the game generally more fun for new and existing players," said Dave Hagewood, the lead pilot at Psyonix.
Psyonix previously made Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars for PSN. We know that's a random thing to bring up, but it's just so much fun to write a ridiculous title like that down.

Already on sale for more than a month at AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon, Sprint has finally revealed when you'll be able to get your hands on LG's G2 flagship. The operator today opened pre-orders for the $99 Android phone but doesn't expect deliveries to hit your doorstep until November 8th. To sweeten the deal, Sprint will also provide lazy notification cases (which are actually pretty convenient) to everyone who pre-orders a G2 through its website.

We're not sure what happened to the alleged GS4 Mini for Verizon, which popped up a couple of months ago and still hasn't materialized. Nevertheless, here we go with some freshly leaked images courtesy of @evleaks, this time purporting to show Samsung'sshrunken GS4 in various degrees of color saturation for AT&T and Sprint. We have no idea as to when the device will arrive on these networks, or how much it'll cost relative to an imported unit (the GS4 Mini is still $410 at Negri, versus $250 for the GS3 Mini). In fact, we're still not convinced that these low-spec models were worth their salt to begin with -- although, to be fair, they seem to be pretty popular in Europe right now.

That Nokia tablet we've been hearing so much about? Just a couple weeks before its likely appearance in Abu Dhabi at Nokia World, we're now starting to see what it actually looks like outside of blurrycam leaks and tiny FCC diagrams. Tipster @evleaks just posted the above render of the Nokia Lumia 2520 in all its cyan glory. It's quite possible this will just be the first of many leaks -- hopefully accompanied by some solid specs to boot -- but only time will tell.

Microsoft maintains responsibility for reporting infringements is with copyright holder
A flood of apps illicitly using Nintendo IP have appeared on the Windows Store.
According to BGR, apps like Mario Jump!, Bowser Town Defense, Pokemon Attack!, and Yoshijump are all available on Microsoft's new digital sales platform, breaking the rules of the marketplace.
A few of these apps have even worked their way to the upper ranks of the Windows 8 Store.
While Microsoft has said it would take a strong stance against apps that violate copyright, it consistently places the responsibility for reporting such violations with the trademark holder.
Nintendo has been fairly religious about keeping its IP exclusive to its own platforms, so it's surprising that the company hasn't yet lodged a complaint.
Even with such obvious violations, Microsoft maintains that it can't go about patting down submissions for violating copyright.
"With regards to trademark infringement, with every app there is an option to report the app for violating the Windows Store's Terms of Use," a Microsoft spokesperson told Pocketgamer.biz.
"If a company feels a Windows Store app is infringing on their copyrights or trademarks, they should report the app and we will take immediate action to determine if the app should be removed from the Windows Store."

Apple’s iWatch will be more than just an iPhone companion believes Cantor Fitzgerald analyst Brain White.
With Samsung having just released its Galaxy Gearsmartwatch, it seems Apple could be looking to trump the new device by giving its own smartwatch a host of additional features.
In a recent research note, White writes: “As an Apple supplier, our contact offered insight into the “iWatch” and described this potential new device as much more than an extension of your iPhone but as a multi-purpose gateway in allowing consumers to control their home (i.e., heating/cooling, lights, audio, video, etc.).
With rumours starting at the beginning of the year, many were expecting to see an Apple smartwatch in 2013, but rumours suggest the iWatch won’t launch until late 2014.
During in the summer it was reported that Apple had run into a number of ‘design problems’, which may have put the initial release date back.

Phase one was abolishing traditional two-year contracts and subsidies, phase two was the Jump "anytime upgrade" program... so what does T-Mobile have in store for its third Uncarrier announcement? As a leak -- and the promised partnership with Shakira -- hinted, the news is unlimited data and texting worldwide. Tonight in New York City, CEO John Legere said that the network is expanding home data coverage for Simple Choice customers to include more than 100 countries -- from Anguilla to Vietnam-- at no additional charge. Voice calls, meanwhile, will cost 20 cents per minutes in those same countries. "Wherever, Whenever," right?
The new global data offering will go into effect starting October 31st, and T-Mobile says customers with qualifying plans won't need to sign up or pay a fee to access basic service. Legere declined to detail free speeds, but we'd expect 2G performance -- enough to use text-based apps like Twitter and email, but insufficient for media consumption. Power users can boost speeds with any of three paid passes: one day and 100MB for $15, one week and 200MB for $25 or two weeks and 500MB for $50. Once your plan runs out, you can buy another, or revert to free service. To ensure that only travelers take advantage of free plans, each period abroad can be no longer than six weeks, and during a three-month period, six weeks must be spent in the US.
For those folks at home, the carrier is offering a new Stateside International Talk and Text plan that lets Simple Choice customers call or text participating countries for no more than 20 cents a minute. (Calls to landlines will be free to over 70 of those countries.) That plan will cost $10 a month. As anyone who's been abroad with a smartphone knows, getting connected is expensive, complicated or both. As for other carriers following suit? Legere has some words for them, too. "What our competitors should do is wait a year to see if this hurts us. Let 'em go for another year and see what happens." Head past the break for an intro video, along with a full list of participating Simple Choice countries.
