It was a nice dream. Sirius XM satellite radio on the iPhone via the App Store. Unfortunately after StarPlayr was submitted to the App Store it was never able to make it through (presumably some Sirius XM pressure was behind the denial). Now StarPlayr is officially done for good.
What have we learned? If you have something cool going on many different platforms and haven't had legal troubles from companies like Sirius XM then by all means DO NOT progress what you are doing to the iPhone. It appears that the move towards iPhone awesomeness caught a little bit too much attention (in the wrong way) from Sirius XM. StarPlayr has been enjoyed by many on their Macs and Windows Mobiles; further enjoyment by many more will never come to fruition.

Historically WWDC is held in mid March but if the prediction by The Baltimore Sun is correct WWDC could be moving to a date in June. This speculation is fueled by the Moscone Center events schedule which has a corporate meeting listed between June 6th and 12th.
Although completely unconfirmed it would make perfect sense that Apple would be moving to a June date. Apple has set the product cycle of the iPhone for the one year intervals and the next version has been officially announced around June for the past two years.
While we are expecting the new iPhone to be announced in June already Snow Leopard might also be coming out at WWDC. Although Snow Leopard appeared to have a release date of Quarter 1 2009

The war between iPhone developers and app crackers continues
Ben Chatelain the developer behind the App Store app Full Screen Web Browser has taken steps to prevent piracy of his app. Just days after the initial app release on the App Store Ben received notification via a Google Alert that his app had been pirated and the cracked copy was being distributed by Appulo.
Frustrated by the events Ben went on a mission to stop cracking of Full Screen Web Browser (App Store link). He checked out informative posts about making an iPhone app crash if cracked but was hesitant to enable the measures because he didn't want the application to crash

For the next 18 months poor Roney can not buy another iPhone. Why? Because Apple and AT&T suspect him of being a jailbreaker. After losing his iPhone Roney was willing to pay full price to buy a new one but was completely rejected. The new policy of one iPhone every 18 months went into effect just a couple short weeks ago around the time Apple started contending the legality of Jailbreaking.

I then called customer care and was then bounced to an Apple store to see if they could sell me the phone.

iPhone lacks a physical keyboard. Many users have complained so far but Apple is firm about its decision on not to have one. As a result, some have come up with a mod to use iPhone with external keyboards.
Ubiqkcom has made a hack that enables use of Apple Wireless Keyboard to type on the iPhone! It is based on the Bluetooth stack developed by researchers at ETH Zurich.
It uses the device’s Bluetooth hardware to connect to the Bluetooth keyboard and does work with all the applications that use on-screen keyboard (umm.. all!). The best of all is the fact that you just need to jailbreak, no hardware mods necessary!
In the video, the iPhone is in airplane mode kept side-by-side with a wireless Apple keyboard, which confirms that the mod involves no use of the Wi-fi...

Who knew? I knew there were quite a few, but now we have a number: 6,135. Sure, thousands of them are carbon copies of one another, but there are a few gems. Rolando, anyone? For all you stats junkies, I'll also let you know that that there more than 20,400 total apps available for the iPhone and iPod touch. Meaning games take up a sizable 30% chunk of the pie. In fact, that's the biggest slice of the pie. Games, apparently, are king in the App Store. And since I still have gift cards burning a hole in my wallet, what are some of the best you've played lately?

The AppStore has just reached 25,000 app mark but it seems that some of them might be disappearing. Though the AppStore was launched on 1st June last year, many developers signed up in March itself. According to people familiar with contact, Apple claims to give a renew option within ninety days before expiry date but it is yet to be provided, given expiry date is only a few days/ weeks away!
Contract renewal is not the only problem. Some developers even report that their contract application- deposited months ago- is yet to be approved. This is not the case for paid apps only. In fact, those developing free app, which require less of documentation are yet to get their contracts approved.

Well it is officially open. Just to test it out I decided to pick up the first paid Cydia App: Cyntact. The first thing you will notice after installing the new Cydia is Cyntact up there in changes. You'll also notice that the title and description is in the color blue instead of black like normal applications. This blue color indicated that it is a Cydia Store Application. That is the only difference you will see in the new Cydia as nothing else menu-wise has changed.
On to the buying. This process took me ages here the first time around. First I had to sign in with my google account, go through some steps to link the account, etc. Next was signing in with my amazon.com account and going through all the various steps (including remembering my password ) to buy the app. Finally I had purchased the app and was able to install it.

1UP points out that, according to iPhone app tracking site Mobclix, more than 6,000 iPhone / iPod Touch games are now available via Apple's iTunes App Store. The digital distribution service, which launched July 11, 2008, is home to over 20,400 apps across multiple categories, of which games comprise 23% (the largest slice). 17% of all iPhone games are in the puzzle genre.
Each week, Joystiq's newest feature, iPhone It In, takes a look at one prominent iPhone game. If you're looking for something new to play on your phone this weekend, you absolutely can't go wrong with Edge, Rolando, Zen Bound, Sway or Fieldrunners. They're swell.

Lets face it. Apple does not allow many very cool apps for sale in the App Store because of their very tight (and in many cases unreasonable) restrictions. The developers of these apps (PDANet, MySMS and iBlacklist to name a few of the many) still want to earn a little revenue for their hard work and until now have been forced to come up with their own sales solutions on Cydia/Installer.
Tonight the game will start changing as Jay Freeman (Saurik) releases the Cydia Store. Just moments ago Freeman announced on Twitter that "Tonight (late) a new Cydia will come out with one package 'for sale' (more over the next week): more details will be in Cydia."

I'll admit it, I have a bit of a iPhone addiction. So I go through an unhealthy number of games on my phone every week. Often they lose my interest after a day or two.
But I'm quite captivated with WordFu, a blending of Yahtzee and Scrabble with a few power-ups and plenty of silly sound effects thrown in for good measure.
To play you shake your iPhone to scramble the letter dice. Once you're happy with your selection you touch play and start touching out the letters to form words. The more words you form the higher your score.
If you form enough words you start getting power ups that do things like freeze the time, let you change out a letter die or gives you a score multiplier. It's a simple concept, but quite a bit of fun.
The only downside is that there's no online support, just local multiplayer, but it's only $1, so I'll put up with that..

Konami has served iPhone gamers Dance Dance Revolution S, a portable version of its fancy footwork rhythm game that trades in frantic legwork and perspiration for lots and lots of touchscreen tapping.
Gameplay is as straightforward as it gets, requiring players to tap four touchscreen arrows in time as they scroll by to the beat of shrill pop music. Konami promises "innovative new gameplay modes" which we'll assume to refer to the "Shake Mode" which uses the iPhone's built-in

Okay, so Metal Gear on iPhone isn't a full sneak-off, but it probably wouldn't have worked anyway. Konami looks to be making a game that suits the touch screen and it looks very nice indeed.
As you can see, Metal Gear Solid Touch is a fixed-position shooter based on the Metal Gear Solid 4 storyline.
You tap the screen to shoot various enemies in a range of environments from the PS3 game, and duck into cover to avoid enemy fire. Could make a good pastime on the Tube.
