POP posted this news/release:
Hi folks,
here's a tiny SID player including some nice tunes and remixes for all you retro lovers
I have included a haxxored version of Reaper's loader to preload fake cursor and a nifty
pic for the ones using the original bootstrap. People who are using the thing commonly known
as "FF's launcher" will have to load the "load_SIDplay.exe" I have included.
This works very well, even speech synthesis is good. Unfortunately no exit possible
Have fun !
cheers,
p0p

sweetlilmre has ported Reminiscence to the Gizmondo:
REminiscence-0.1.8 port
keys remapped for Giz:
DPAD: move
Play: Enter
Stop: backspace (skip cinematic sequences)
Rewind: shift (use item run etc)
Forwards: space
LTrig: In game options
Volume: dodgy volume hack for three settings: off, half, full
SDL DoubleBuffer implemented, a couple of other changes, really nice source to port.
If you want the music download the original .mod files and name them mod.flashback-* e.g. mod.flashback-ascenseur
This is a clean port of the 0.1.8 source tree.
If someone can tell me how to generate a nice diff (I'm using diff under msys), a source diff will be available soon.
Make sure that all data files are in a "data" sub-dir from the executable.
This uses my port of SDL 1.2.9 and zlib.
Key mapping file to come...
Let me know how it works for you.

Want your Hello Kitty fix on something beside an ear cleaner? How about this Hello Kitty iPod Dock. An otherwise plain dock, save for the Hello Kitty-ness, this supports any iPod that fits the standard dock in 3-5G iPods. There’s even a line out jack for plugging into another stereo system or headphones.

The official story: Apple had not returned requests for comment as of press time.
What we heard: Of all the products on the market, few engender as much fanatical loyalty as the iPod. Sony was clearly hoping for something similar when it introduced the sleek PSP last March, touting the fact it played games and video, while the iPod didn't.
Last October, Apple removed one of those advantages when it launched the fifth-generation video iPods. Since then, speculation has swirled that the Silicon Valley company is readying an iPod which could play things other than Brick and Parachute, two of the rudimentary games which come on the ubiquitous handhelds.
This week, GameSpot learned that there may be more to the Apple-game rumors than mere Mac-mad daydreams. A tech-sector recruiter contacted the GS NewsDesk with an interesting story of a prospective hire that got away. Recently, when said recruiter made an offer to a software engineer, the engineer turned the offer down--saying he was being "heavily recruited by Apple."
According to the engineer, an Apple hiring manager named Mike Lampell is heading up a group inside Apple's storied iTunes division. The group is specifically hiring for "C/C++ coders with a ‘gaming background.’" The engineer says the project in question was described to him as "super secret," and Apple would not even tell him the exact nature of it until he had been hired and signed a non-disclosure agreement.
So how credible is this story? The recruiter's credentials are beyond reproach, leaving the engineer as the wild card. Currently, Apple is only publicly listing one position with "game" in the job title, a "Consumer & Games Partnership Manager" in its Santa Clara, California offices. Strangely though, when one searches for a position with "game" in its description on Apple's job-listing database, no results come up--even though the Consumer & Games Partnership Manager position has the word "game" in the text. A fairly exhaustive review of the software engineer positions found none looking for game experience.
However, the mention of Lampell gives the story some credibility. Lampell is a known developer who used to work at LucasArts, where he was a technical director on several major projects, including Star Wars Republic Commando. Lampell was laid off in August 2004 when LucasArts culled its development department in the first of a series of cost-cutting measures. However, GameSpot could not confirm his current employment at Apple, since attempts to elicit comment from the company had gone unanswered as of press time.
Bogus or not bogus?: If Apple is doing game R&D, it sure is doing a good job keeping it quiet.

These iPod speakers are so horrible they’ve wrapped all the way around and become good again. Kinda.
The DJ is a cradle and speaker system that looks like a robotic DJ. Not an animatronic version of Candace Cameron from Full House—an actual DJ. This thing also shines lights and pretends to scratch the wheels of steel while interrupting your music with phrases like “Drop the Beat!” and “Here’s another FUNKit exclusive”.

Children will soon have a compelling new argument when begging their parents for an iPod, as the music, movie, and audio book player is about to take on a new role: educational tool. Pearson Education has just announced plans to release downloadable study guides (for use with Pearson texts, naturally) and audible review notes for exam preparation that may convince even the strictest parents to acquiesce and let the little white trojan horse into their homes. Not content with just the youth market, Pearson also revealed that it has purchased Apple's PowerSchool student information system, which is used by teachers and administrators to track student progress. No word yet on when kids can start using the "I'm studying!" excuse when told to take off their headphones in class.

Runs smoother, mouse movement faster
Less prone to crashing
Things to do
Landscape Mode
Button Mapping
Music support
Mouse support within exe
---------------
This just goes to show that most people can get Pocket PC apps and games running on the Gizmondo, this literally took me 30 minutes to get up and running with a bit of fiddling here and there.
There is still ALOT of work that needs to be done to it but you can have a basic game, I've yet to fully test it out so any bugs/problems reported are appreciated.
It runs in vertical mode, emulating a typical PocketPC, which is a bit awkward controlling, but you can get used to it.
Load and Save also works.
Important: You need to replace the data files for the full game ones in order to play!
Install Guide
Put the TTD contents in the root of your SD card or in the games folder providing you have the required autorun in the root directory.
Next load up GsFinder and run fakecursor, then locate and run TTD
Controls :
D-pad - Mouse movement via fakecursor
Play button - Select
To exit, select 'Exit' from load/save menu, will return you to GsFinder.
Things to do (probably not by me!)
Landscape Mode
Button Mapping
Sound, SFX

In an open letter to the Mac community, Jason Tomczak, the so-called lead-plaintiff in the iPod nano "Scratch" class-action lawsuit, says he never wanted anything to do with the case. The fact that he was named lead-plantiff was a mistake according to Jason, as he never sought out, nor hired the firms of David P. Meyer & Associates or Hagens Berman Sobol Shapiro to represent him. Sure, he did respond to their request for information after Jason complained about scratches on his personal blog and within other Mac-related forums. However, Jason claims that the lawyers prepared the paperwork and filed the iPod Nano Class Action suit in California using Jason's name as Lead Plaintiff "without his knowledge or consent," even after Jason requested not to be involved, and without Jason signing an attorney-client agreement. On top of this, the poor kid's name has become synonymous with the class action resulting in threats, hate mail, and other forms of harassment from the more fanatical-types amongst the Mac zealotry. Jason is currently suing the two firms -- a move being met by the type of aggressive and staunch defense you'd expect from a couple of powerful and scheming law firms. If true, well, you just gotta feel sorry for the guy. So let's cut him some slack as this thing unfolds, aight?
