While we at Gizmodo will readily admit that this MP3 Shower Radio is not exactly the most exciting thing we’ve seen in the past few days, it does have a certain kind of hokey charm to it. This water-resistant radio houses a compartment where you can put your MP3 player (read: iPod), enabling you to listen to your whole music library whilst you exfoliate in the morning without fear of, well, electrocution. The radio also includes a fog-free mirror for those ever-so-dangerous in-the-shower shaving sessions. Four AA batteries power the $29.95 radio.

Yamaha presents 3 new DSP AV amplifiers, the DSP-AX759, 559 and 459, available in gold and silver. These amps are entry level models, so no HDMI but rather D4, S-Video, composite for video and optical for the audio. The 759 is a 7.1 (100Wx7ch(6Ω)), has YPAO (Yamaha Parametric Room Acoustic Optimizer) and decodes 21 audio codecs (AAC, DTS, Pro Logic, ...). The 559 is a light version of the 759 that decodes 18 codecs, offers 5.1 (95Wx6ch(6Ω)) and also comes with YPAO. These 2 models (759 and 559) are compatible with the YDS-10, an iPOd docking station that allows you to use all the audio power of these 2 AV amplifiers directly from your iPOD. Finally we have the 459, it's not YPAO compatible, it does not have the iPOD docking station port, but it does provide 5.1 (90Wx6ch(6Ω)).

Yamaha alsready took care of your iPOD, and now it's Denon's turn with this ASD-1R, that can be hooked up to an amplifier or Denon HiFi set but also to an S-Video port. If you connect this docking station to a Denon set (there's a long list of units), you can control the iPOD with the remote control of your HiFi set. Connecting the iPOD to this dock also charges it.

The Multi Arcade emulator MAME has now been ported to the Ipod.
imphasing posted this news:

Here is a port of MAME for the ipod. Note that this will only work on the 5G ipod, unless you put another LCD driver in, so feel free to do so. I WILL NO PROVIDE SUPPORT FOR THIS. If you can't figure it out, you're on your own. I wrote this becuase I wanted to play pacman on my 5G, so it worked out.
Note that not all the MAME games are supported yet. Only these at the moment:
Pac-Man
Pengo
Cetipede
Millipede
Centipede and Millipede don't really "work" yet, but I'm working on that.
A few things you need to know:
This is a standalone binary, so you will need to start it from your rc, or from pz0.
You need to have a folder called "pacman" in the same directory the emulator is in, with all the pacman roms in it.
You need to not ask me for pacman roms.
The screen is oriented sideways, so play is right, menu is left, FF is up, and RW is down.
The source is released under MAME's license, which does not permit commercial useage, so don't sell it. Got it? Great, here's the download:

Sure, it's easy to make your PC or iPod the center of your home entertainment network using various docking systems or wireless adapters like Apple's Airport Express. But what if you actually want to select music from another part of your home, without having to either run back to your PC/iPod to do so, or install a dedicated device like a Roku SoundBridge? KeySpan thinks it has the answer in the form of the TuneView, a remote control with a color LCD display that shows your iTunes or iPod library. The $99 remote works with either a $39 USB adapter to communicate with your PC, or with a $79 dock to connect to your iPod. Of course, you'll still need to hook up a set of speakers, but once you do, you can banish that PC to the home office, and still listen to your music in the living room.

Hi all if you are reading this newspost you are on the new server, im sure if you have visited this site regulary you will have noticed that the server has been slow especially on days when we push well over 2000 online at one time.
With Massive thanks to Martin64 our server admin we are on a much faster server, so the problems of the past should be well and truly over.
The DCEmu Network for those of you who are new or not sure of what we are is the only true network to support both Homebrew and Commercial Gaming across all consoles and not just the ones in the news.
We have sites that cover PSP, Dreamcast, GP2X, Nintendo DS, GBA/GB Micro, GP32, Tapwave Zodiac, Gizmondo, Sega Saturn, Gamecube, Nokia Ngage and Mobile Phones, Xbox, PS2, PS1, GP32, Ipod, Nintendo Revolution, PS3 and Xbox 360.
We also have hosted sites for some of the best coders across the console scene namely Chui, GPF, PSMonkey, Deniska, PLynx & Miemt11.
We also have a site for Gadgets and retrostuff too and each site has its own forum.
Last week i opened 2 new sites that will hopefully bring more people to the network in the form of a MMORPG site and a Real Time Strategy Site.
I am personally a massive fan of RTS games but like all the sites and forums, its the people who visit them and chat that make the network what it is.
Thanks for visiting a site that started just over 2 years ago and quickly grew as i brought my other sites over to make a network of sites and one with a name thats easy to remember, namely DCEmu - The Homebrew and Gaming Network.
Thanks for visiting our network

iPodGarage has an interesting essay about Apple’s entry into the iPod accessories space. At first blush, it seems that Apple is trying to grab a piece of a lucrative pie by nudging out other players in the market. However, this would be suicide. Those same players would just go and congregate around any number of less-popular MP3 players, leading to a lonely life for Steve and the iPod designers.
The real reason, iPodGarage posits, is that Apple wants to make the millions of iPod users out there aware of the aftermarket accessory world. This is a bit dubious to me, but it sounds logical. After all, the more crap you buy for your iPod, the better the chance you’ll buy the next generation gear. What say ye all?

A San Francisco woman, who was the victim of a hit-and-run while jogging, was properly identified thanks to her iPod and some ingenious thinking by investigators. No form of identification was found on her, but she did have her trusty iPod. The iPod was taken to the local Apple store and the woman was able to be identified. The victim was still in critical condition on Friday.

As an avid iPod fan and beanie wearer I shall give this product a seal of approval. This acrylic beanie stores the Shuffle and the cords neatly inside. And because the beanie will cover the ears of most wearers, then you will get a barrage of people talking to you without knowing you can’t hear them. I love it when that happens. It is available in multiple colors for $22 through Pakatun

Let’s face it, iPod cases all kind of suck. You buy a gorgeous, super sleek iPod and then in the name of not getting it all horribly scratched up you then have to buy an ugly bulky case to cover it up, one that probably doesn’t even fit in your pocket. So lame, right?
If you’ve got a Nano, you might just be in luck. Check out Moshi’s new iGlaze —it’s a high-gloss scratch-resistant false face that adheres to the front of your iPod with a polymer adhesive that leaves no residue when removed. The iGlaze is currently available in Obsidian Black and Milk White to match the Nanos on the market, and Kagami Mercury is a nice chrome to match the Nano’s front to its back. If we have to put our money on a color to sell well though, then we’re going with Sakura Pink, which’ll make your Nano the same shade as the best-selling pink iPod Mini. At $27, the iGlaze may seem a little pricey, but then again those stupid iPod socks are $29…

TEN Technology has just released a versatile new pair of Bluetooth headphones that both communicate with their naviPlay Bluetooth Adapter for iPod (included in the package) and also serve as a headset for Bluetooth-enabled cellphones. Furthermore, the naviPlay Bluetooth Stereo Headset can stream tunes from any A2DP-equipped handset or DAP as well as being a VoIP headset for PCs that sport Bluetooth. TEN went with an "old school high end design" for this model which go over the user's head, as opposed to behind the neck, include buttons for volume, track, and call control, and feature a rechargeable battery with a claimed 8-hour duration. These multi-functional 'phones are available online, immediately at Dr. Bott and at the Apple Store Online later this month, for $200.

AppleInsider has the goods on a survey distributed this week by market research firm Coyote Insight, which digs for input related to a potential “iTunes movie service.” The fictional video download service described early in the survey would provide access to “1,000 movies on-demand” which can either be downloaded to your computer and then to your “video iPod” or played-back to your TeeVee if connected to your computer. The survey explains that this service would require a broadband connection and allow subscribers ($10/mth just like Vongo) to download films through iTunes and view ‘em as often as they like. And yeah, those commercial-free films would begin playing while download continues in the background. Otherwise, films can be purchased for about $13 each – but without the ability to burn to DVD. Of course, anyone could have commissioned the survey, and we think it's pretty likely that this was put together by some outfit that is just using the iTunes name in its research because it clicks with consumers. Regardless, the service described in the survey never mentions the potential resolution of the films for download. Hey Coyote, listen up. If your survey is real, we ain’t gonna drop $13 green for a 320x240 flick (current resolution of iTunes videos) for playback on our hi-def rig, dig? After all, this is the “year of HD” right? Oh wait, that was last year.

Digital Lifestyle Outfitters (DLO) is now shipping TransDock Micro, an iPod charger and adapter that uses FM to link your iPod to your car radio. Nothing new there, but the TransDock can also charge up other USB devices such as the Motorola RAZR, offers four preset stations, and works with all the iPods including the shuffle.
Plug the unit into your car’s cigarette lighter, and you can connect another device such as a portable DVD player or PSP into its auxiliary input, letting you play that audio through the car stereo, too. Not bad for $70.

If you’re not satisfied with that FM-quality hookup between your iPod and your car stereo, the Scosche BlueLife system can make that happen with Bluetooth. BlueLife includes an iPod transmitter and a Bluetooth receiver, and the company suggests that you buy multiple receivers so that you can wirelessly connect that iPod to your car stereo and your sound system at home, too.
The only catch is you’ll need to dig down and hook up the Bluetooth receiver to your car stereo’s wiring. But the reward is digital streaming audio with what the company calls CD-quality sound. Now available for $200.

A week after former Gizmondo executive Stefan Eriksson's Enzo Ferrari was destroyed on a Californian highway, police have announced that a gun magazine found nearby may be connected to the crash.
According to the LA Times, detectives are attempting to determine whether the magazine is linked to the incident. They are looking to interview a person who they think was in the car with Eriksson - presumably the mysterious 'Dietrich', who Eriksson has previously claimed was driving at the time of the crash.
Sergeant Phil Brooks also told the LA Times that the vehicle was one of two Enzos imported into the US by Eriksson, along with a Mercedes SLR. Brooks said that police have not been able to find the correct papers for the car, meaning it was not "street legal" for driving on Californian roads.
Brooks added that police now believe the car was travelling at 162 miles per hour when it crashed, and not 120 mph as previously reported. The crash occurred when the Ferrari hit a bump in the road, causing it to fly through the air and smash into a power pole.
According to Brooks, officials from the Royal Bank of Scotland informed investigators that the bank may own the crashed Enzo. He also said that detectives are currently attempting to find out why Eriksson's Mercedes SLR had previously been reported stolen to Scotland Yard.
Brooks said that detectives have called Eriksson in for a further interview. The Royal Bank of Scotland declined to offer a statement

Source Gamesindustry.Biz:
Electronic Arts has secured the rights to produce a tie-in for this year's FIFA World Cup event in Germany, with games for current and next-generation platforms slated for a release this April.
2006 FIFA World Cup will feature nearly 100 of the world's favourite footballers, all specially animated to capture their playing styles. Players will be able to choose from 127 national teams, and play in matches in the 12 official stadiums where the tournament is being held as well as stadiums from each qualifying region.
Modes will include Global Challenge, which recreates classic moments from World Cups past, plus a multiplayer mode for up to eight players. The game will also feature unlockable content, such as legendary players and exclusive sportswear.
“The FIFA World Cup will be the single most watched sporting event by a worldwide television audience, bringing together football fans from around the world,” said producer Joe Nickolls.
“Our game, 2006 FIFA World Cup, celebrates this passion by capturing all of the national rivalries in-game, enabling fans to play their heroes and be a part of 2006 FIFA World Cup Germany.”
2006 FIFA World Cup is in development at EA Canada, and will be released on PC, PS2, PSP, Xbox, Xbox 360, GameCube, Nintendo DS, GBA and mobile phones in April.
