Marat Fayzullin has updated his (commercial) GameBoy emulator VGB-Android.
Quote:
This week´s VGB-Android 3.9.16 release is on Google Play now:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...id=com.fms.vgb
VGB emulates GameBoy Color, GameBoy Classic, and Super GameBoy video game consoles. The new release makes sure you cannot press two opposing arrow keys at once (some games absolutely hate that) and adds the "Hide Title Bar" option for those users who cannot stand the action bar. Note that once you hide the title bar, you can get it back by sliding your finger down the screen.
People with Moga gamepads should be able to remap Moga buttons via "Assign Keys" option, something many of you requested. Also, gamepads can now be used to navigate the tabbed Settings dialog. See the complete list of changes below.
- Now locking out opposite arrow keys.
- Added "Hide Title Bar" option to hide status/action bar on startup.
- Added ability to assign Moga buttons via "Assign Keys".
- Fixed battery drain when VGB is running in background.
- Added arrow keys navigation to the tabbed Settings.
- Added Moga controller navigation to the tabbed Settings.
- Added Desert Strike to the Cheatopedia.
- Added Earthworm Jim to the Cheatopedia.
- Added Earthworm Jim 2 to the Cheatopedia.

I have published VGBA-Android 4.3.5 today, a new version of my GameBoy Advance emulator:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...d=com.fms.vgba
In this version, I have fixed the 16bit PUSH CPU instruction so that it can make changes to the I/O registers, as some programmers use this instruction to initiate the DMA and do other things. I have also added the "Hide Title Bar" option, requested by many users. Please note that once you hide your action bar, you can always get it back by sliding your finger down from the center of the screen. Finally, I have added cheats for a few games. See the complete list of changes below.
- Fixed THUMB PUSH instruction for cases where DMA is initiated with PUSH.
- Added "Hide Title Bar" option to hide status/action bar on startup.
- Added Egg Mania cheats to the Cheatopedia.
- Added Elf The Movie cheats to the Cheatopedia.
- Added ET The Extraterrestrial cheats to the Cheatopedia.

Even in an industry known for evolving at an impossibly quick pace, it's rare for a product to be replaced in just five months. If you've read our review of Samsung's Galaxy Gear smartwatch, however, it probably makes sense why the manufacturer would want to antiquate it as soon as possible -- while an interesting concept, the wearable was clearly half-baked. This morning, Samsung is starting off Mobile World Congress by announcing the Gear 2 (shown above, right) and the camera-less Gear 2 Neo (above, left), both of which (the company hopes) will address most of its predecessor's pain points when it arrives in stores worldwide this April.
The absence of Galaxy branding is no typo, by the way; the new Gear will run on the Tizen operating system, a platform which Samsung has been investing large amounts of money and resources into. It's not the company's first device running that OS -- that honor goes to the NX300M camera -- but regardless, it's hard to know exactly how different the user experience will be on a Tizen-powered smartwatch instead of an Android-based one. According to Samsung, we can expect a battery life of 2-3 days (two to three times better than the first Gear's one-day life), an "enriched application ecosystem" and some sweeping changes to the external design. Check out the gallery below and join us after the break for more details.

Microsoft VP Joe Belfiore made an announcement that will come as a solid addition to the Windows Phone app ecosystem: Facebook Messenger will be making its way to the platform sometime in the next few weeks. No specific date was given, since it's still in the works, but we're told that it's progressing well enough that Belfiore could announce it. More updates from Microsoft as we get word.
