Mobile sensation Flappy Bird is to return to the App Store, says the game's creator.
When asked by a fan on Twitter whether the hit title would be available for download again one day, Vietnamese developer Dong Nguyen said "Yes. But not soon".
He later clarified that the new Flappy Bird would not be the same as the original, but "a better one".
The hugely popular mobile title was pulled from the App Store and Google Play last month despite topping the App Store downloads chart following intense scrutiny of the title.
Nguyen claimed he did not pull the game due to legal reasons.
"I am sorry 'Flappy Bird' users, 22 hours from now, I will take 'Flappy Bird' down. I cannot take this anymore," he tweeted.
He added: "It is not anything related to legal issues. I just cannot keep it anymore. I also don't sell 'Flappy Bird', please don't ask. And I still make games."

GDC 2014: Extreme Reality also releases design tool SuperPose to ease integration of new poses
Full body motion control SDK Extreme Motion has been released on Android.
The tech is designed to enable players to use the camera on their phone to track their body movements, with gestures acting as a control input, somewhat similar to how Microsoft's Kinect peripheral works.
Extreme Motion is already available on Windows and iOS. The tool can be licenced through a revenue share agreement.
Games that have previously harnessed the motion tracking tech include Sega's Go Dance, Side-Kick's Top Smash Tennis and Indie Hero's ShadowBoxer.
Creator Extreme Reality has also released a new design tool called SuperPose to make the process of designing and integrating new poses and motions into a game faster.
“With this release of the Android SDK, Extreme Motion is now available to all of the major operating systems, including iOS, Android and Windows, and the hundreds of different devices on these platforms,” said Extreme Reality CEO Sarit Firon.
“Motion games and apps can now reach almost anyone using a tablet, smartphone or PC, as well as Android consoles and smart TVs.”

Mojang, development studio behind the wildly-successfulMinecraft, has continued its five-year trend of increased profitability. Mojang revenue topped$237 million in 2012, while a Wall Street Journal article reports that number to have hit $326 million for 2013, which in turn translates to almost $128 million in profit.
Roughly 93 percent of the company's money was made from Minecraft, split fairly even across platforms: 38 percent from the PC version, 30 percent from console versions and 25 percent from mobile versions.
Minecraft creator Marcus "Notch" Persson, who still owns the rights to the Minecraft IP, was the single-largest expense for Mojang; the company paid out approximately $129 million in license fees to Persson last year.

Armello spent eight months as a paper prototype, and the team at Australian studio League of Geeks did its best to throw the appeal of a board game onto the screen – including the dice. Armello is a turn-based, strategy RPG complete with skill cards and four playable clans: rabbit, rat, bear and wolf. It's in development for PC and mobile.
Armello has a rich fantasy backstory and matching 3D art: The king, a lion, has a disease called "rot" and he's going mad, locked inside of his castle and protected by minions, high walls and his own skills. The game supports solo and multiplayer modes, online and local (with multiple devices), and it has a day-night cycle that transforms the battlefield from deep greens to dark purples throughout players' turns.

That update for the company’s SDK lets iOS developers bring their games to over one billion additional devices worldwide.
Marmalade Juice – the company’s cross-platform technology has been added to its SDK, meaning iOS developers can now port their games to the vast Android market.
Juice will be included in all Marmalade licenses and from now, for a limited time the annual community license is free.
The release is good news to developers who find themselves locked into developing for just the iOS ecosystem, being unable to increase their market reach cross-platform.
Harvey Elliott, CEO Marmalade Technologies Ltd, said: Adding Marmalade Juice to our powerful SDK means that at last developers have an easy way to extend from iOS to the now dominant Android market, using technology from a company that has grown up with mobile gaming.”
Developers who use the platform will benefit from working within the cross-platform SDK, such as maintaining a single codebase and the option to target other platforms in the future.
Elliott continued: “The release of Marmalade Juice underlines the long established aims of Marmalade in ensuring that operating across platforms can be a sustainable strategy for the developer and the industry as a whole.”

Google's Android Studio is a development tool for Android based on the IntelliJ IDEA platform, one that managed to attract a lot of hype when it rolled out in mid-2013. Roughly a year later, the platform is still in 'early access preview,' and work on it is ongoing. Eclipse, on the other hand, is the granddaddy of IDEs; although it doesn't offer native Android support, it does have some nice tools to help you build Android applications—one such tool is the Google Plugin for Eclipse, made by Google.Developer and editor Jeff Cogswell compares Eclipse and its Google-made Google Plugin with Google's own Android Studio, developed with the help of the people who make IntelliJ IDEA. His verdict? Eclipse is beginning to show its age, especially when it comes to Android development, while Android Studio offers some noted benefits. 'Android Studio is still in preview mode, without an official release, even if that preview is in pretty fine shape—its status certainly shouldn't prevent you from using it, at least in my opinion,' he writes. Do you agree?"

The verdict on virtual reality seems to be in: the future of the technology is in fully immersive, face bound ski-goggles that block out your physical perceptions in favor of digitally created wonderlands. Well, unless you're looking at Seebright's AR/VR head-mounted display prototype. The company brought an early version of its developing headgear to GDC and it's.. well, very different. Unlike the hardware we've seen from Sony, Oculus and GameFace, Seebright's headgear leaves the user's peripheral wide-open by suspending a smartphone above their field of view and reflecting it in front of them with a low-hanging mirror. To be honest, it's a little bizarre.

The first game in the Shin Megami Tensei series has been released on the iOS App Store.
Originally released in October 1992, Shin Megami Tensei was a SNES RPG that was never officially sold outside of Japan.
This iOS version, therefore, marks the first time the game has ever been officially translated and sold in the western world.
To celebrate its launch, publisher Atlus is offering the game at a reduced price for a limited time, making it available for £3.99 / €5.49 / $5.99 until March 31, at which point the price will be increased.
The original Shin Megami Tensei is set in the year 199X and begins with a horde of demons coming to Earth. The Japanese leader decides to use these demons as a military weapon, causing America to retaliate.
The player, who is nameless, has the ability to speak to demons and recruit them to battle for him. The choice, then, is whether to create an army of demons and take over the world, or an army of angels to stop them.
The series continues to grow in popularity 22 years after the first game's release, with over 30 titles and spin-offs based on the Megami Tensei universe.
These include the Persona and Devil Summoner series, which have been particularly popular in the west.
Last year Nintendo announced Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem, a crossover game coming to 3DS as the result of a collaboration between Atlus and Intelligent Systems.

Activision's library of downloadable song DLC for Guitar Hero, DJ Hero and Band Hero will be taken offline at the end of this month, the publisher has announced.
The Guitar Hero mobile game will also be removed from sale on 31st March.Servers for the PlayStation 3, Wii and Xbox 360 games will stay online, however, and any tracks you have already purchased will of course be unaffected."We want to thank all of you for supporting Guitar Hero over the last nine years," Activision wrote in a statement posted to the official Guitar Hero Facebook page."To celebrate this great community, selected songs and tracks will be available for as much as a 50 per cent discount on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Wii from now until the end of the month. For more information, please visit the store on your console."Guitar Hero and its spin-off franchises remain in limbo, with no new games on the horizon. Activision previously admitted not treating the franchise with the right amount of "nurturing and care" needed to sustain long-term sales. The long-since-cancelled Guitar Hero 7 would have removed the franchise's band support and instead focused on a new six-string guitar peripheral. The project was canned before ever seeing the light of day.

Google's Sundar Pichai said that Chromecast would be available in many more countries this month, and it now appears that this worldwide launch could be close at hand. Engadget reader Martin has noticed that big UK retail chain Currys is already listing the TV media stick, with nary an official announcement in sight. The company says it's out of stock, but there's a plausible £30 ($50) price tag in place. While the entry doesn't give any clues as to when the Chromecast would reach the country, Google has less than two weeks to make good on its word -- we'd reckon that the device arrives sooner rather than later.

Sure, a few eager Amazon shoppers might have been enjoying the Chromecast on the other side of the pond, more or less straight after it launched in the US. However, those Europeans waiting for an official retail channel, (as suspected) your time has finally come. Google just announced that its popular media streaming TV accessory will be available for customers in the UK, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland starting today and will cost £30. Naturally you can purchase via the Play store, but Amazon will be stocking also. If you prefer things a little more bricks and mortar, and live in the UK, they're also coming to Curry's -- if you hadn't already heard -- and PC World. With the official release in new territories of course comes region specific apps, led by the BBC's ubiquitous iPlayer which will now play nice with the HDMI dongle. All these new customers, just in time for the inevitable wave of apps, too. It's almost like they plan these things...

An 8GB version of the supposedly ‘budget’ iPhone 5C is now available.
The SKU this morning appeared on Apple and mobile operator websites and is priced at £429 standalone. The existing 16GB (£469) and 32GB (£549) models are still available.
Apple has never published official sales date for the 5C but the belief is that it has fallen short of expectations and consistently lagged behind the numbers enjoyed by the ‘full-fat’ iPhone 5S.
The most common criticism is that the 5C, which from the beginning has been pitched as the budget iPhone option, remains too expensive, particularly as it is technically almost identical to the aging iPhone 5.

A new word puzzle game made by lone Irish dev Shane McCafferty is currently topping the word game charts on both sides of the Atlantic.
Word Forward, which is free-to-play and published by AppyNation, was released last Thursday as is currently ranked No.1 in its category in both the UK and US, as well as in ten other countries.
As of yesterday (March 17th) users had played over 700,000 games in the single player mode as well as “thousands” in multiplayer.
McCafferty, now based in Canada, has previously worked on hits such as Jetpack Journey and also been involved in projects for consumer games sites like Eurogamer, VG247 and Videogamer.
“What I want is to keep doing what I love and have loved since childhood – making games. My expectations are just that. Keep a roof over our heads and get to make the next game. Simples,” he told MCV.
“There'll be an update to Word Forward soon to address some minor launch issues. The usual post-launch tidy. Beyond that we'll see how the game continues to do.
McCafferty is currently working on an upcoming baseball title in conjunction with US baseball player Dirk Hayhurst.

There's less than a month to go before Samsung launches its new flagship Galaxy S5 smartphone worldwide on 11 April, and the new device has still not gone into mass production due to camera module manufacturing problems. The 16 megapixel camera module consists of six plastic pieces, one more piece than in the existing 13 megapixel camera modules in the Galaxy S4. The problem that Samsung is having is that even though the number of plastic pieces has gone up, the thickness of each piece has remained the same, so in order to fit the new camera module into the Galaxy S5, the lens makers will likely have to develop new technology to make thinner lenses. Not only that, joining six pieces together instead of five for the 13 megapixel camera modules increases the risk of optical faults surfacing at the lens manufacturers' plants dramatically.

The iOS version of Microsoft Office is ready to release, it has been claimed.
Reuters, citing “people close to the company”, reported that a full iPhone and iPad version of the productivity suite is ready for launch, with its launch only requiring the approval of Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella.
The development of the software for mobile platforms had been intensified by Microsoft in response to a growing number of competitor apps, the sources added.
"We have some pretty exciting plans," said Office marketing executive John Case regarding the launch.
"Certainly, interest in Office on the iPad is extreme. When [customers] want to do real work, they are going to want to use Office."
"Office is being disenfranchised on the hottest growth platforms," commented analyst Rick Sherlund of Nomura.
"Maybe it is time to focus on Office independent of Windows."
"Look at the applications that are on the rise to support mobile. It is not Microsoft OneNote or Word. It's Dropbox, or Evernote," added Ted Schadler, an analyst at research firm Forrester, on the growing rivals Microsoft's aging software is facing.
"It's really about being everywhere. That's an important, immediate decision that Satya's going to have to drive."

Apple has announced changes to its iPhone and iPad ranges.
The firm has launched an 8GB version of the iPhone 5C while simultaneously bringing back the previously discontinued 16GB iPad 4 and officially retiring the three-year-old iPad 2.
The 8GB iPhone 5C is currently being sold in Apple’s European online stores for £429, making it £40 cheaper than the 16GB model. It is expected to become available in the US at some point today.
The 16GB iPad 4 has relaunched worldwide after being removed from the range after the release of the iPad Air in October.
The iPad 2 has been available since then, but it seems Apple has decided to bump up its entry level iPad to a device featuring more memory and the firm’s A6X chip.
Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 6 this year. Rumours for the device include a 4.7-inch display with 1600x900 resolution and atmospheric pressure, temperature and humidity sensors.
