News from doblezeta:
Here's a new interesting app for the iPhone that gives it a Minority report like interface demo for image rotation and scaling.
MultiTouch v 0.1.1
To Install, you need to add the iPhon.fr source in your Installer.app's sources.
To do this:
In installler.app
tap sources
tap edit
tap add
type: http://s.imov.eu/
tap ok
wait for sources to refresh
tap install
look for multitap under the iPhon.fr category
install multiTouch.
Enjoy your iPhone's Minority Report-like interface and view of NY Twin Towers Ground Zero
But wait! There's more! for those who wish to edit the default picture shown by the app (i changed mine to a googlearth view of Rockwell Center) follow these instructions:
Notes:
Requires MultiTap to already be installed on your iPhone!
Requires knowledge of SSHing to your iPhone
1) Download and Install Pixer (Mac Only, I;m sure Windows also has a nifty pixel changer application
2) Choose your desired picture to appear in MultiTouch.
TIP: Use GoogleEarth and use screenshot (Apple-shift-4 on Macs) to make and use a GoogleEarth image.
Since the image has to be a .jpg file with resolution of
797 x 737
and preferably (but not required)
72 pixels per inch,
Here's where Pixer comes useful. Launch Pixer and choose the picture file you want, then convert it to a 797 x 737 jpg. save to desktop.
rename the .jpg file that Pixer just created to: WTC_skyview.jpg
TIP: Images that are originally close to a 797x 737 (almost a square shape) will work best.
3) Launch your SSH application on your computer.(Fugu or Cyberduck for Mac, WinSCP for Windows)
Login to your iPhone
Navigate to the iPhone's /Applications/Multitouch.app/ Directory
Drop the WTC_skyview.jpg file you created (from your desktop), to the iPhone's /Applications/Multitap.app/ directory.
You should get an alert whether you want to overwrite IF your dropped the WTC_skyview.jpg file onto the right directory. Click Overwrite.
Close Fugu
Restart iPhone.
Enjoy your customized MultiTouch.
Great app that shows you the potential of our beloved iPhones. Imagine if future games implement this feature. I can imagine a port of SilentScope working well with this interface. =)http://www.hackint0sh.org/forum/showthread.php?t=18666

You play with crayons and physics. The goal of the game is to move the red ball so that it collects the stars. You can cause the red ball to move by drawing physical objects.
Changes:
Scratch to erase! With an option in the menu to disable it (in case you don't like to erase lines :-)
Option to swap the tap/double-tap functions
Some performance enhancements
Some bugfixes (including the annoying object disappearance one)
And some nice new joints for level creators (iPhysics_Levelpack_Format)

We've already seen a microphone rigged for use with the iPod touch, and it now looks like that hack could soon be about to get a whole lot more useful, as the iPod Touch Mods blog is reporting that an enterprising individual known only as "eok" has manged to get VoIP working on the device.
According to the blog, eok used the SIP-based SvSIP application originally developed for the Nintendo DS as the basis for the hack, although there's unfortunately few other details at the moment, let alone the recompiled version of the app itself, or even a screenshot of it in action. Given the history of these things, however, we wouldn't expect it to take too long for those tidbits to trickle out, assuming the hack lives up to its promise, that is.

Zodttd has posted some fantastic news for fans of Emulation on the Apple iPhone and iPod Touch.
He is now working on a Playstation Emulator for the iPhone/iPod Touch and has posted these 2 screenshots:
Heres all the news about the work on this emulator:
These images won't reflect how the release will look. Also ignore the data in the debug information at the top, as it's not accurate.
What can you look forward to in the first release of psx4iphone? Depends on how the beta testing goes. I will be working on the existing dynarec (cpu emulation) quite a lot to improve performance as it will be required. The screen scaling and screen placement will be drastically improved over the above images. Memory card support will work, and save states might work. Sound will be implemented as well. The interface/gui will be very similar to gpSPhone's just with 4 hard buttons instead of just A+B, and L2 and R2 buttons. A rough estimate would be about 75% of games will be compatible. With such a large library of games, this may or may not include your favorite game. Performance will have to be increased about 25% to get a good portion of games running smoothly. This can be done.
I will be contacting those who donated to me (for gpSPhone and psx4iphone) when a beta of psx4iphone (also works on iPod Touch) is available. If there's a large amount of beta testers and the demand is there, it could be within a matter of days.
Heres also the first article to inform you totally of whats going on:
Work has begun on two projects involving emulating Playstation 1 (PS1) games on the iPhone, iTouch, and GP2X. I am involved with both projects, and will outline both.
psx4all - This project has a lot of time and work placed into it. It is already a featured emulator within the GP2X community. The GP2X is a great handheld for homebrew gaming, and I proudly display the gp2x-store banner ad above. psx4all is already ready to go, and I have it compiled for the iPhone already. This is the quickest way to get Playstation on the iPhone for me. It's a complete emulator with sound, compressed ISO support, fairly fast, memory card support, and save states.
yapse4all - This project is currently a "work in progress". It has a lot of potential. It's code is clean and efficient, and written completely from the ground up for handhelds and dynamic recompilation. This project will take longer to complete than psx4all, but will have better performance in the long run. I am looking forward to help push yapse4all forward.
So in short, psx4all can bring PS1 emulation to the iPhone/iTouch while yapse4all is being developed alongside.
A lot of code in psx4all needs to be ripped out and redone, and I am able to produce a much nicer dynamic recompiler over my current one for this emulator to speed up performance. Other psx4all platforms will benefit from this and yapse as well.
Hold on tight, playstation emulation is on its way.

As the festive season comes around again, we're taking a look at what's out there for people who want to make their Symbian phone a bit more Xmassy...
During the 1980s, it was extremely common to see Xmas-themed and Winter-themed computer games on 8-bit and 16-bit systems. This has somewhat died out lately, mainly due to the immense costs, long development times and global markets of console games. However, the Xmas/Winter game tradition is alive and well on smartphones, and there are seasonal games for every kind of Symbian.
We've divided up this article into flavours of Symbian: S60 3rd Edition, S60 1st & 2nd Edition, UIQ3, UIQ2, Series 80 and Series 90. Just scroll down to the section appropriate to your device.
To go to the download or purchase pages for a game, just click on its screenshot.
Incidentally, for those of you who download Snowed In 6, remember that you can swap tiles diagonally as well as vertically and horizontally. This may be a bit tricky to do on some direction pads, but it is possible. If you can't get it to work, try pressing two different directions in quick succession. You can see an extended video of Snowed In 6 gameplay, including the diagonal swapping, over at the Unofficial Nokia Gaming Blog.

iLocation is a native program that pin points your current physical location and displays it in the iPhone's Maps application. It uses the location of cellular towers your phone is connected to estimate your location. It works exactly like Google's Mobile Maps for other phones.
Release notes:
- Will not publically release this, sorry. Google's database of cellular tower locations is not publically available and they'll most likely ask me to stop distributing this. Until they release a public api, I'll keep this for myself.

Vinterstum has released a new version of ScummVM for the Apple iPhone, heres the latest release news:
20071208_0049:
* The "leftover" screenspace due to aspect ratio alignment will now be 50/50 on each side of the screen (centering the image).
* Click-and-drag mouse mode now works for the right mouse button as well. Pressing down a second finger will now 1) release the left mouse button, then 2) click the right mouse button until you lift your finger. Means COMI inventory handling, and whatever games need mouse-dragging with right mouse button held down, should work better.

Zodttd posted this news:
gpSPhone v1.1.2 has been released. It is available on Installer.app.
It is available for download here at zodttd.com, the official site for gpSPhone (the Gameboy Advance emulator for the iPhone and iPod Touch).
What's new in this and recent versions:
Changes 1.1.2:
- Slightly increased performance. Much less "hiccups".
- Sound buffers changed. Games which run well, performance-wise, sound better. Games that run slowly will still have poor sound.

Doting uncles with more nieces and nephews than fingers on one hand will still have a problem than this, but Apple's quietly raised the iPhone purchase limit from three to five. Our tipster says the Apple store employees aren't supposed to say anything and they're supposed to keep all the signs the same, but you should be able to get away with an armful without any kind of hassle.
