This application allows you to read large Text (.txt,.text), Palm Doc (.pdb), Mobipocket (.pdb,.prc,.mobi), Plucker (.pdb), HTML (.htm,.html), and FB2 files quickly and efficiently on the iPhone. This application lacks many of the advanced features of ruBooks or Books.app, but it can quickly load and display large text files that currently cause Books.app or other UI Text View/Web View based apps problems. http://code.google.com/p/iphonetextreader/

This is an alternative admin interface for Django for use with the iPhone/iPod touch. Some would call it a theme or a skin, but actually it's more than that. Well, actually it misses some functionality of the normal admin interface. Anyway, it is automatically used for any request which comes from a MobileSafari based device by using a nifty midlleware/template construct.

Siphon SIP -VoIP for iPhone and iPod Touch.
Siphon SIP/VoIP project is the first in his category that works both on iPhone and iPod Touch. It is a native application approved running on 1.1.X using the Microphone built-in headset, and an external Microphone (for example, designed by the Touchmods team) for the iPod Touch.
The Application supports the SIP standard, preserving compatibility with hundreds of SIP providers and offers a GUI which preserves the apple design of native iPhone and iPod Touch applications. http://code.google.com/p/siphon/

A component that you can add to your iPhone application to access all basic features of Google Maps (similar to Android's MapView). It uses a UIWebView in the background to load the HTML/Javascript version of Google Maps, and offers a set of Objective-C methods that mimic a subset of the original Javascript methods for controlling the map. It currently supports setting the center location, and zooming & panning using the touch interface. You can see it in action here: http://code.google.com/p/iphone-google-maps-component/

If you are using a smartphone running on Windows Mobile 6.1, this small utility might be useful for you. It allows you to switch on/off and change the display order of the sliding panels on any CHome homescreens. It could also be used to customize all custom panels based on CWelcomeCenter and Settings plugin.
Changes:
User must now have at least one visible and non disabled panel in order to save the settings.
Fixed a bug which prevents user to disable the panels
After the changes has been saved, the user must choose to reboot the device or else the changes won't have be effective (in order to accomodate panels based on CTestUIPlugin).

We knew that rumor about AT&T iPhone insurance for $5 was too good to be true, seeing as we went through the same thing back in 2007 when the iPhone was launched. AT&T's insurance company, Asurion, isn't going to cover that super expensive phone for only $5 a month, even with the $125 deductible on pricier smartphones and PDAs. Tough luck guys, but you can always get AppleCare and protect yourself from most problems on your phone not caused by you being a dumbass

We briefly mentioned using junk data to overwrite the the iPhone's flash as a last-ditch method of securely clearing off your user data yesterday, and although we were half-joking, that's more or less your only option until Apple provides a proper secure erase feature. Security researcher Rich Mogull has helpfully laid out the steps for you, and they're basically what you'd expect: restore your iPhone, don't sync any personal data to it, and then manually transfer three different playlists large enough to fill the flash. Essentially you're doing a manual three-pass overwrite, which is pretty much exactly the long and tedious process it sounds like -- but we wouldn't dream of selling or giving away our iPhones (or any other phone with personal data on it) without struggling through it.

After some exhaustive research invested by one iSmashPhone, it seems like that now-infamous "Enable 3G" screen shot supposedly lifted from a recent iPhone firmware 2.0 beta was mocked up. The spirit of the shot mercifully lives on, though, seeing how the existence of the underlying preferences to support the enabling of 3G data has been independently verified in the code -- we just don't know exactly what form that preference is going to take in the user interface. Bottom line: fret not, there's still a 3G iPhone on the way, it's probably going to be here within mere weeks, and odds are you'll be able to control whether high speed is enabled, just like virtually every other 3G phone on the market. So if you're looking for a random reason to crack open a celebratory beer right now, well, there you have it. Drink responsibly.

The N-Gage platform aims to usher in a new age of high quality connected phone gaming. However if you upgrade to a new phone, you cannot transfer any of your N-Gage games from the old phone. In a special feature article All About N-Gage looks at why this is such a damaging policy for N-Gage, what the unintended consequences are, and a number of potential solutions. Will Nokia change their minds on this issue?
Well, it now seems that the new N-Gage platform has its own significant flaw: if you upgrade to a new phone, you will not be able to transfer your games to the new phone - your library is locked to the original handset forever.
This is in stark contrast to Nokia's Music Store service, which does let you move your music library to a new phone. Why does Nokia treat a 10 euro album differently to a 10 euro game?
