A video has been posted on YouTube which features a number of allegedly leaked iPhone 5 components.
The video, posted by SmartPhone Medic features the iPhone 5 front panel compared to the 4S, showing it to have a bigger screen and home button. The front camera has been moved to a new position above the speaker rather than next to it.
In the video we also see the screen next to a Samsung Galaxy S3, showing the S3 to still have a bigger screen than the Apple handset.
SmartPhone Media also claims to have got its hands on an iPhone 5 flex cable. One differences between the two is a repositioned headphone jack, which PCR reported on last month.

Everything Everywhere has been Ofcom approved to bring 4G to the UK, and the news hasn't sat well with rival networks.
Of course, the US has had access to the next-generation of mobile broadband for a couple of years, and investment bank Piper Jaffray told Apple Insider 46.8 per cent of Americans say they "don't need 4G".
The survey was conducted on the basis that the next iPhone 5 is likely to feature the supercharged mobile web tech.
Additional results show that 25.7 per cent reckon 4G and LTE are the same (they're not exactly, as the speed can differ between the two), while 15.1 per cent said 4G LTE was the best, and 12.4 per cent favoured 4G.
51 per cent of the consumers said they have no idea who provides the best network, and it's likely that opinion will be replicated over in the UK when the spectrum is offered to all operators.

Call it the end to a brief chapter in the Windows Phone saga. While there had been murmurs that theHTC Arrive was on its way out soon, any doubt has been removed now that the smartphone has vanished from Sprint's website and is likely on the endangered list at retail stores. The QWERTY slider's retirement leaves Sprint without any sort of Windows Phone in its roster, cutting the number of major US carriers backing Microsoft's platform down to three. Before you ask, we honestly don't know if the CDMA provider has a replacement waiting in the wings anytime soon: rumors of a Sprint Windows Phone 8 model surfaced as early as March, but the Yellow Swoosh network was nowhere to be seen among the Windows Phone 8 launch partners slated for this fall. The gap is conspicuous enough that Sprint subscribers may need a heaping amount of patience if they're not willing to switch networks for a Windows Phone fix in the near future.

Nikon’s newest camera, the Coolpix S800c, runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread and has Wi-Fi.
What with every smartphone having a built in camera and an array of apps to share photos with, the humble compact camera has somewhat been left behind. With Nikon’s latest offering, it hopes to draw web-savvy photographers back to the camera market.
Nikon has labeled the Coolpix S800c as “the Android-powered camera that loves your social life as much as you do”. With Google+, Facebook and Twitter built-in, as well as a number of photo-related apps available, this compact camera really is aimed at social networkers.
The Coolpix S800c features a 3.5-inch 819k-dot touchscreen, a 16MP CMOS sensor, 10x optical 4.5-45mm lens, and 1080p video capture.
"Just like a smartphone or tablet device, the camera has the opportunity to run camera-specific photo and video applications, yet enables the various benefits of shooting with a camera," said Nikon in a statement.
"The S800c provides access to a vast world of applications for games, productivity and personal communication/email, including Nikon's photo storage and sharing site."
Nikon’s Coolpix S800c will be available in black and while from September 27th and will be priced at £379.99.

Verizon Wireless bans staff holidays between September 21-30. I wonder why….?
US carrier Verizon Wireless has blacked out holidays for all of its staff from September 21st until September 30th.
Add this to the speculation that the Apple iPhone 5 will arrive on September 21, and the quick-witted among you may be able to spot a pattern.
With the official announcement widely believed to be scheduled for September 12, a release of the new iPhone nine days later falls in line with Apple’s previous history with iPhone launches.
From the first iPhone through to iPhone 4, the gap between official announcement and availability in the States has been between nine and 12 days.
Are you getting the new iPhone and what do you expect from it?

Sixty per cent of Windows Phones worldwide are Nokia devices.
A new study shows that Windows Phone is growing, and Nokia is gaining an increasing share of that market.
The study, conducted by Localytics, shows that since January the number of WinPho devices has grown by 312 per cent worldwide and 273 per cent in the US.
Meanwhile, Nokia’s share of the global Windows Phone market has gone from 22 per cent to nearly 60 percent. Equally impressive is the statistic that its US shares has leapt from zero per cent to 32 per cent.
However, while Nokia's star is on the rise, Samsung and HTC's US Windows Phone market share has fallen.

Thirty-six per cent of teenagers are unable to go 10 minutes without checking their phones.
A survey by free messaging app TextPlus, says that 50 per cent of teens couldn't live without their mobile devices for a week.
They would, like, literally die.
Of the 600 respondents aged between 13 and 17, 36 per cent said they aren't able to last 10 minutes without checking their phones.
Among this group, texting is still tops, with 61 per cent saying they couldn't survive without texting - more than any other activity they perform on their phones.
With this apparently essential need to text, it is little wonder that 52 per cent of teenagers said they use their phones regardless of the environment - 37 per cent check their devices on the toilet and 20 per cent do it in church.

Marissa Mayer wants to leave BlackBerry behind and get an Apple device for every employee.
BlackBerry is currently the smartphone of choice for employees at Yahoo, however many employees have an iPhone or Android handset as a second phone for personal use.
According to All Things D, new CEO Marissa Mayer (pictured) has declared that iPhones (or potentially Android devices) for everybody is a distinct possibility.
It’ll be expensive (just like her recent statement that there should be free food for staff at Yahoo's larger offices) but it will be popular and keeping all employees on a single platform might help boost productivity.
Regardless of which platform Yahoo decides on, the aim is to improve the bottom line which should make stockholders happy, as well as the manufacturer that gets the contract.

The UK festival season is in full swing right now, with the likes of Wireless, Global Gathering, and V invoking superstars from around the globe to perform to thousands of merrymakers.
And with such an excited atmosphere, revelers will look to their mobile phones to capture the moment with videos and photos, updating friends on social networks, and regrouping should someone wander off.
Given all of that, mobile network giffgaff has found one in ten festival-goers have lost or wrecked their phones at festivals this year, and when combined with thefts, this results in £130m worth of damages – equivalent to 650,000 phones.
Data also shows around £14m worth of call credit is wasted, while a quarter of people would have to pay out £300 on a lost or damaged device.
However, mobiles were only the third item on the missing list, trailing behind 22 per cent and 19 per cent for lost clothes and friends, respectively.

Today a rare version of Apples Iphone 4 has appeared via an Ebay Auction, as you can see in the screenshot above it has a strange logo that looks like a bowling ball and the word prototype on the back. The Rare iPhone also runs Apples Switchboard Software, heres what the Ebay Seller says:
Iphone 4 Prototype/Tester unit. This is one of a VERY small amount of Apple prototype devices and never seen on ebay. This iPhone has 32GBs of capacity, and is incredibly unique. It has a unique back that clamps to the body without screws on the bottom (a small phillips screw holds the back, screw placed on the side next to the sim card slot.) ONE OR MORE OF THE CLAMPS ARE BROKEN CAUSING BACK PLATE TO FALL OFF
THIS IPHONE is a functional representation of this design.
This iPHONE is not only unique in it's hardware, but it's running Apple's software testing suite, called SwitchBoard which is used to test the devices functionality. USUALLY THESE PROTOTYPES ARE DISABLED BY APPLE BUT THIS ONE IS FULLY FUNCTIONAL. All functions of the software seems to work. All parts on this iPHONE are original prototype parts, except for the battery, which was removed by Apple, and I replaced it with an OEM iPhone Battery. This iPhone is model N90AP. The iPhone contains many identifying numbers on it which disclose which particular prototype it is, and in the interest of safety I have blurred out all possible identifying numbers. Again, be aware this is a one of a kind item, none like this have been listed on ebay before. It comes with no warranty, and is intended as a collectors item or if you're interested in the hardware or software on it. The back of the device clearly shows that its a prototype model. This iPhone has it's own serial number which shows up as invalid in Apple's system since Apple does not register prototypes.
The seller will sell it on a buy it now for $10,000, heres the link for more info: http://www.ebay.com/itm/RARE-Apple-i...#ht_1337wt_984

While our thoughts on all things iPhone may be focused elsewhere, an unusual Apple prototype of its fourth phone iteration has caught our attention on eBay. On the back, you can see the same curious logospied on experimental hardware as far back as February 2010 and as 9to5Mac notes, it doesn't pack the screws along the bottom edge, making it ever so slightly different to the final model. The phone (model number N90AP) also runs Apple's software testing framework, Switchboard, which is still happily ticking along on this particular prototype. Bids start at $4,500, or there's a Buy It Now price of $10,000 -- if you must have this obscure slice of Apple history.

Digitimes has reported that the iPad Mini is set to launch in October.
The tech site also revealed that the supply volume of Apple’s 7.85-inch iPad is estimated to reach four million units per month, starting in September.
Prices are likely to be around the $300 mark to try to compete with other 7-inch tablets on the market.
Four million units a month is a quite aggressive for a new product launch, especially given that Microsoft is only building an estimated three million units of Surface tablets for the entire year, implying that Apple is intending to open up a whole new market of iPad buyers.
With the abundance of Android tablets on the market, who will buy a 7.85-inch iPad? Well, the saturation of Android tablets may be the very thing that draws consumers to a more familiar brand.
With so many Android 7-inch tablets, all featuring various operating systems, consumers may find it difficult to understand the differences between them.
Those who want a tablet, but don’t want to splash on a regular iPad may find their perfect device in the form of the iPad Mini.
Apple is set to announce its latest iPhone on September 12th. Likely to be called the iPhone 5, the handset is rumoured to feature a larger screen than previous models and a smaller charger port.

At $623.5 billion, Apple is the most valuable company in the history of the world.
With shares up by 64 per cent this year, Apple's market value has gone through the roof.
Smashing the previous record of $620.6 billion set by Microsoft in 1999, the Cupertino titan is now worth $623.5 billion.
For many years, ExxonMobil was the most valuable company in the world. Apple is now worth 53% more than the New York-based petrol company.
The stock's latest push higher is powered by expectations of unreleased products, particularly the iPhone 5.
UBS advisor Steven Milunovich said: "Apple is building a tech empire. Empires eventually crumble. But Apple seems closer to the middle of building its empire than the end."

Reincarnated Nokia OS looks to the little green robot to entice users.
Finnish startup Jolla was born last month, comprising ex-Nokia employees that plan to revive the OEM's extinct Intel-based MeeGo OS.
The software was originally set to succeed Symbian, but only made it as far as powering the Nokia N9 before the firm chose to partner with Microsoft for Windows Phone devices.
Of course, Jolla has a steep hill to climb to gain share from the likes of leading Android and iOS, so how can it go about making its way to the top of the mountain?
Simple, it will equip MeeGo to support Android apps and hope that consumers will stray away from the official Google OS, according to Gigaom.
The startup will use OpenMobile's Application Compatibility Layer (ACL) tech to achieve the results, which can make MeeGo a 'vibrant ecosystem' with Android power.

Massive tablet used to demonstrate toy company's new range of connected playthings.
A giant iPad has appeared in the Westfield London shopping centre to promote toy manufacturer Mattel's Apptivity line of products.
Apptivity toys can be moved across the screen of an iPad to play games, and to demonstrate how it works the company has installed a ginormous tablet in Europe's biggest shopping centre.
One of the games sees children stepping onto the king-sized device and becoming a Hot Wheels Apptiity car by moving around the screen while looking at the immersive screen in front of them.
Mattel’s boys marketing manger Jonathan Kirkley said: “This is just the first element of a highly strategic marketing programme that will bring the Apptivity collection to life across a number of communication channels including TV, digital, social media and viral video.”

One in four Japanese consumers now own a smartphone, and two thirds of those are Android devices.
The number of people in Japan with smartphones has grown dramatically since the beginning of 2012, with an audience growth of 43 per cent.
Data released by comScore looked at trends in the Japanese mobile industry during the three months ending in June 2012 and surveyed more than 4,000 mobile users.
During this period, more than 24 million people in Japan owned smartphones which, represents 23.5 percent of the entire mobile population. However, despite that surprisingly low percentage, numbers are on the up; smartphone adoption grew by 43 per cent versus the end of 2011.
Android’s share of the smartphone market reached 64.1 per cent, with Apple having 32.3 per cent, and Microsoft a 3.2 per cent of the market.
Among handsets (smartphone and non-smartphone), Sharp is on top, with 22.6 per cent market share.

Update also cuts back on battery consumption.
Cloud communications firm Skype has updated its iOS app, which supports iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch, to include photo sharing.
The company has responded to user demand, and is banking on customers to use the feature in favour of MMS.
Photo-sharing doesn't include a size limit either, which will allow the transfer of any shots that veer into high-res territory.
The update also boasts a slicker performance with improved speeds, while the apps are now 'less battery hungry' when the app is on standby, enabling users to send IMs and so on throughout the day without fear of a dead device.
