It's only just started shipping its Gizmondo handheld games console but Tiger Telematics has already said it plans to challenge the likes of Nokia, Sony Ericsson, Motorola, HTC, PalmOne and Research in Motion with a smart phone product.[br][br]Dubbed 'Bizmondo', the unit is essentially an enterprise-oriented version of the Gizmondo, incorporating that machine's GPS support, GSM/GPRS and Bluetooth connectivity, along with its MP3 audio and MPEG 4 video playback features.[br][br]The announcement follows Tiger's acquisition of UK-based corporate-oriented real-time application delivery software developer Integra SP. Integra's AltioLive product essentially provided a way of connecting clients to enterprise applications through a browser-launched Java client. Such a system would naturally form the foundation for Bizmondo's push email/PIM functionality and provide the ability to tie the handheld into enterprise applications and data.[br][br]Integra will continue to develop, support and offer AltioLive. And presumably it will in due course promote Bizmondo to its corporate customers, among whom it counts heavyweights in the financial services sectors, including Nasdaq, Deutsche Borse, HSBC, Royal Bank of Scotland, Coutts, Bank of America and ABN Amro. Other customers include Reuters, Bloomberg and Sun Microsystems.[br][br]The acquisition requires Integra shareholder approval but if that is granted, the deal will be completed by the end of the month. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed.[br][br]Earlier this week, Tiger announced its acquisition of troubled UK games developer Warthog for $8m.

Ok, i've been wondering how much difference does it make to have 32mb or 128mb ram on a pocet pc. I mean on a regual pc you usually have lots of stuff on at the same time and run some heavy applications, but on pocet pc? You surf online or play emulator games and possibly listen to music at the same time, play games desinged for a pocket pc or some video playback perhaps. Does it really take that much ram?
I could almost buy a 1gt SD memory with the price difference between Zodiac 1 and 2 for petes sake.

Staffan Ulfberg has updated the MAME port to the Nokia N-Gage and other series 60 phones, heres whats new:[br][br]EMame for Series 60 was ported to the Motorola A925. [br][br]The user interface was changed, so that the list of installed games is now the main view. [br][br]Screen rotation added (very useful on the Motorola). [br][br]Enabled samples. [br][br]Rom file directories were changed. [br][br]Vector games are always run in "Normal size" mode, since the vector display is scaled to the screen size anyway, and running the scaling algorithm only slows things down. [br][br]A significant speed-up of the scaling algorithm (used pacman with no frameskip and audio on as benchmark; was 27, now 31.5 fps). [br][br]New scaling algorithm that makes a nicer scaling. Speed of this algorithm is the same as the old one had in 0.98. There is now an option to select between the two algorithms. [br][br]Made all the input settings available, so that games that use, for example, analog joysticks run. [br][br]Made the scroll key in non-scaled mode configurable (through the in-game menu). Also, frame skipping and speed throttling can now be configured from within the game. [br][br]Auto frame skipping is now enabled by default, with a maximum frame skip of 9.[br][br]Download EMAME v1.0 Here and MicroEMame Here

British development group Warthog Plc has arranged a deal with Tiger Telematics Inc, parent company of Gizmondo Europe, which will see all of the firm's subsidiaries being taken over by the handheld console manufacturer.[br][br]The surprise deal was announced to the stock market this morning, with the transaction being undertaken without the seeking of approval from Warthog's shareholders due to a pressing need to complete it as quickly as possible.[br][br]New owner Tiger Telematics, a US firm which specialises mostly in devices such as global positioning systems for professional use, is the parent company of Gizmondo Europe Ltd, which launched its first handheld console, the eponymous Gizmondo, into the UK last Friday.[br][br]Tiger Telematics will be taking on all of the subsidiaries of Warthog Plc, as well as all of their debts to the firm, with a total payment of $8.1 million being made, including assumed debts. That amount is divided into $1.13 million in cash and 497,866 shares in Tiger Telematics stock (TGTL).[br][br]The shares are restricted and can not be traded until the anniversary of the completion of the deal, and UKP 150,000 of the cash quantity will also be held in escrow for a year and released conditionally on the fulfilment of certain warranties.[br][br]Warthog executive directors Ashley Hall, Steven Law and Simon Elms will all be moving over to Tiger Telematics as part of the deal, while the remaining Warthog Plc company will shortly be arranging an EGM with a view to changing its name.[br][br]The aim of the buyout, from Gizmondo's perspective at least, is to give the company access to a library of existing game content and the technology to port titles to its new console platform. [br][br]Although the Gizmondo device has been launched relatively quietly in the UK, the firm plans to step up promotions over the coming weeks - and is planning, among other things, a dedicated Gizmondo retail outlet on London's busy Carnaby Street in the run up to Christmas.[br][br]"The board considers... that this transaction represents the best available outcome for the company and its shareholders," Warthog said in a statement issued today. "The board of Warthog has sought to complete this transaction as rapidly as possible because the group has continued to face difficult trading conditions within the games development industry."[br][br]The fate of Warthog's projects for home console platforms is unknown at present, and it's also unclear whether this purchase will lead to any further redundancies among the firm's remaining staff.

The new Gizmondo handheld console has shipped to retailers in the UK, marking the first availability of the device anywhere in the world - with a relatively soft launch set to be stepped up a notch by a presence at the Best of Stuff show in London this week.[br][br]The system, which is manufactured by Tiger Telematics subsidiary Gizmondo Europe, integrates a powerful CPU and NVIDIA-supplied graphics chip with mobile communication, global positioning, camera and video/audio playback functions.[br][br]Gizmondo is promising that 12 software titles will be made available for the device in the "launch period", including Super Drop Mania, Angel Fish, Colours, Interstellar Flames 2, Stuntcar Extreme, and SCi-licensed racing title Richard Burns Rally.[br][br]"As the newcomers, we've had to play many cards close to our chest," commented Gizmondo Europe managing director Carl Freer, "but this is about to change. Over the coming weeks, there will be a series of Gizmondo announcements, as we go to market."[br][br]"The Gizmondo is a great product," he continued, "we're extremely proud of it, and we're equally delighted that the UK will be the first launch platform."[br][br]The device is set to launch in North American markets in the first quarter of 2005.

Gizmondo Europe, a subsidiary of Tiger Telematics, announced today that it has begun shipping the Gizmondo handheld console to retail stores in the United Kingdom. A lineup of 12 games, from puzzle titles like Super Drop Mania to racers like Richard Burns Rally, will be available over the coming weeks. [br][br]Featuring an Nvidia GoForce 3D 4500 graphics accelerator chipset, along with a 400MHz ARM9 CPU, the Gizmondo offers gaming combined with digital photography capabilities, GPS functionality, and movie/MP3 playback capabilities. Included in the box will be a SIM card, a power adapter, headphones, a battery, and a USB cable. Hello! I was googling my way trough the net for N-gage emulation, when this page popped up. I own an N-Gage QD, and I was wondering, can I somehow emulate games on it, since I don`t think the QD has any inputs for transferring data (like I imagine the original has, since it has an MP3 player, the QD doesn`t have one)?
So should I just forget it, or can I download data down the "airwaves" too? And if so, how can this be achieved, or could you direct me to some spesific info on the subject.
Thanks.

Hello...my problem is the same of ando`s problem...
"Hello, can anyone help? I have just got my N-Gage but am having problems in using PC Suite. I have formatted my card using the N-Gage and connected my N-Gage to my PC via the USB cable. When I go into PC Cuite it says 'This is the first time you have used PC Suite. Please attatch your Nokia N-Gage to the PC and press OK to continue or press close to exit PC Suite.' The connector symbol on the toolbar is greyed out (disconnected). I have clicked on this and it gives me 3 COM ports to select but when I select them nothing changes, I end up having to close PC Suite. I have bluetooth enabled on the N-Gage. Am I missing something completely obvious? Could someone advise how I should go about doing this correctly. I don't know if it means anything but I have Windows XP."
only that when i connect my cable i cant see the other drive .... : :-[
can anyone help me figure this out please?

A new Nokia initiative called Preminet aims to provide an end-to-end solution for mobile content distribution - simplifying the process for developers, operators and consumers alike.[br][br]The system features a master content catalogue which provides tools for developers to upload and market their creations to operators, who can then build their custom catalogues from this content and their own specific content.[br][br]This content is then served to consumers using a new Preminet purchasing client application which Nokia has developed to provide end-users with a better experience for finding, purchasing and installing new content.[br][br]The purchasing client, which works on all Java and Symbian phones, can be completely customised by individual operators, and intelligently detects the capabilities of the handset to determine which content is suitable for it.[br][br]According to Nokia, the system is entirely modular and operators are free to choose which elements of it they wish to use - with even the purchasing client being optional, as it can be replaced with more traditional WAP or SMS purchasing systems.[br][br]Nokia will take small revenue share of sales generated through the system, although it says that it has no intention of dictating terms between developers and operators - preferring to allow them to continue to negotiate their own terms.[br][br]The Finnish company hopes that the Preminet solution will be widely adopted by developers, operators and other handset manufacturers alike, with the firm's platform solutions director Steen Thygesen telling gi.biz that the initiative's "key mission" is "to create something that really drives this market to happen sooner and to a greater extent than would happen otherwise."[br][br]"Content is a great value add to [the mobile operator] business, but they feel the pain of having to manage this offering," he said. "Preminet allows them to offload the management of this thing which is not really core to their business, while still realising revenues from it, as well as introducing ways to accelerate that business with the new content purchasing client."

I have installed Frodo onto my phone and have downloaded my games also. I am having a problem trying to acivate the joystick in the setting menu. I understand that you are supposed to use an 'edit' key to do this but when I looked at the Frodo FAQ at their website it only advised what the 'edit' key is on certain phones - not the N-Gage. Does anyone have this emulator and know how to amend the audio/joystick settings etc? Any help much appreciated. ???
