Operator celebrating Bank Holiday weekend by scrapping its data charges.
Vodafone UK has announced that it's axing its usual 50p flat-rate day charge for mobile data for tomorrow only, as a promotion to celebrate the August Bank Holiday weekend.
It's the second time Voda has made mobile internet access free for a day.
The deal is open to the operator's pay-as-you-go customers, as well as those who don't already have a data tariff as part of their monthly subscription. Customers don't have to register to take advantage, either.
This isn't an excuse for customers to spend all day streaming videos or downloading music, mind.
What's 'free' tomorrow is 25MB of data, which Vodafone handily breaks down as watching three three-minute YouTube clips, reading eight news stories on the BBC's site, reading and replying to 40 emails, or viewing 200 mobile web pages.
The fact that this is the second such promotion implies that first time round, it was successful in persuading some customers to sign up for a data plan afterwards.
