Online video firm Ustream has released its Ustream Live Broadcaster app for iPhone, which lets users stream live video from their handset to the web.
A big deal? Yep. It's the first one-to-many live video broadcasting app to be approved by Apple for distribution in the App Store. What's more, it allows the video to be streamed over 3G or Wi-Fi.
The free application is available today (App Store link), and allows users to chat to people watching the stream while broadcasting, as well as notifying their Twitter followers that a stream has started.
Videos can also be saved and then uploaded to the main Ustream website, as well as Facebook and YouTube. It's likely to be followed by apps from Ustream's rivals online, like Qik.
Previously, Ustream has released two iPhone applications: one that lets people watch video from its site, and another that lets people upload their recorded videos (but not broadcast live).
