Canadian band Nickelback is the latest artist to get the Tap Tap Revenge treatment, with their own branded music game for iPhone. Nickelback Revenge has been released by Tapulous, and includes 11 of the band's hits, including How You Remind Me and Rockstar.
As with previous Revenge games, there's a Bluetooth multiplayer mode, and four unlockable boss tracks to play.
"The combination of our music and Tapulous’ gameplay is very cool," says frontman Chad Kroeger. "We're excited to give our fans a fun, interactive way to experience our music."
There's a launch promotion for the game: the first 2,500 people to buy it will get 25 in-game credits that they can use to buy more music.
There will also be weekly prize draws for players who manage to beat the band's own high scores.
Laughing at the idea of a Nickelback game? Don't. The band may have their detractors, but they also have a big fanbase who'll be eager to shell out $4.99 for the game.
"Whether measured by album sales, song downloads or concert attendance, Nickelback is huge," says Tapulous VP of business development Tim O'Brien.
Previous artists to have got the Revenge treatment include Nine Inch Nails, Weezer, Coldplay, Dave Matthews Band, Lady Gaga, Metallica, Kings of Leon, Justin Bieber and Nirvana.
