Just earlier today we reported that Android devices in the UK are coming under fire from shifty battery apps and games.
Of course, mobile malware and viruses are a worldwide issue, which is why T-Mobile USA has teamed up with security provider Lookout to install a native protection app on all of its devices out-of-the-box.
Automatic App Security will be preloaded on selected devices this year, though will be found on the majority of Android smartphones and tablets in 2013.
The fact the app is native means that the device will be protected once it's turned on, while there's no registration or setup required.
Ian McKerlich, VP of product management, T-Mobile USA, said: "T-Mobile wants our customers to enjoy the full benefits of the smartphone or tablet experience, including worry-free access to applications, which is why we are taking extra measures to protect their devices, privacy and data.
"Lookout already scans more than 36 million applications for T-Mobile customers every day. Preloading Automatic App Security on our devices allows even more customers to enjoy the security and peace of mind of knowing that they’re protected with the leading Android mobile security and antivirus app."
