Water resistance, NFC, maps, music plus more all wrapped around your wrist.
It has been on the cards for some time now, that some form of smartwatch was undoubtedly going to emerge from one of the tech giants.
With the Apple iWatch previously rumoured, it appears that Sony has beat them to the punch by unveiling what could be the first ever 'real' smartwatch, reports Tech Radar.
Sony has described the futuristic time keeper as 'a second screen for your Android phone,' but at 1.6 inches and 220x176 pixels, you may find your self straining to see it.
Features of the watch will allow you to take calls, check maps, read previously downloaded emails and control music… Oh, and tell the time too. You will also be able to take photos through your phone with a specially developed smart camera app.
Sony's SmartWatch 2 will be compatible with 'most' Android smartphones and will come with an interchangeable 24mm wristband. The predicted release date for this wrist-gadget is set for September 2013, with no current price mentioned.
