Analysts reckon 62 per cent of the $5.9B Q2 profit comes from mobile business.
It's all going so right for Samsung at the moment. While Nokia, RIM and HTC flounder, and Apple fails to live up to the insane expectations of Wall Street, the Korean firm just keeps powering on.
Its operating profit shot up 79 per cent to 6.7 trillion won ($5.9 billion) in second quarter, up from 3.8 trillion won a year ago.
The firm makes all manner of consumer tech and also chips and panels for third parties, but it's mobile that's making all the running. Samsung sold 49m smartphones in the quarter including 7m Galaxy S III sales alone (the device has since passed 10m sales). http://www.mobile-ent.biz/news/read/...profits/018796
