SEED 1: RISE OF DARKNESS will go 'freemium'

Chillingo announces today that their recently released iPhone game SEED 1: RISE OF DARKNESS will go 'freemium' - a term coined in the App Store for applications that are made free but with in-app purchases capability.

The game will be completely free to download. Players will have the choice to enhance their gaming experience through purchasing items from the in-game SEED store.

In SEED 1: RISE OF DARKNESS, players adventure within a thriving fantasy-RPG universe developed by CH Games. Players begin their adventure as an unskilled apprentice, who must defeat enemy monsters and complete quests to discover new weapons, skills and spells. Eventually, they will become a powerful hero who can change the fantasy world of Kalikoop forever.

“SEED rose up to the top of the charts in Japan and South Korean on a similar freemium based microtransactions model.” said Jinsik Kim of CH Games. “We are excited to see the outcome of the freemium model on the Apple App Store.”

SEED 1: RISE OF DARKNESS is available now for free for iPhone and iPod touch on Apple’s App Store.
