The Apple world had a little wobble yesterday following an article in the Korea Times that said Samsung would stop shipping displays to its rival in 2013.
A Samsung Display executive was quoted as saying: "We are unable to supply our flat-screens to Apple with huge price discounts. Samsung has already cut our portion of shipments to Apple and next year we will stop shipping displays."
Samsung makes a lot of money from Apple, supplying it with screens, processors and memory chips, with Apple equally reliant on its South Korean nemesis.
But, like so many things in Apple/Samsung Land, this has turned out to be bullshit.
Samsung has denied the entire story, has requested that the Korea Times edit it.
Apple has previously said that it wants to end its reliance on Samsung for certain parts that go into products that Apple competes against Samsung with, but it seems that split is going to happen just yet.
Apple has been looking to LG and Sharp for displays, with a suggestion than TSMC will replace Samsung as chip provider.
