The Kantar Worldpanel ComTech says the Galaxy SIII has supercharged Samsung and that the firm now has five of the top ten devices in the UK alone
The finding is part of Kantar's regular survey of the platform space, which reveals yet another surge in Android in most markets.
Indeed, the success of Galaxy SIII helped push the OS's share of the big five countries growing from 42.7 per cent in July 2011 to 65.7 per cent in July 2012.
These gains largely came at the expense of RIM and Symbian. RIM’s steepest decline has been in the UK, at 10.9 per cent now compared with 21.6 per cent last year.
Windows Phone remains stuck at three per cent.
