Samsung has announced a slimmer and lighter model of the Galaxy Tab 3 – The Tab 3 Lite.
The Lite tablet features the same seven-inch display as the 3, embedded in a reduced bezel designed for one-handed use. The bezel is used to display the menu bar of the device’s operating system – Android 4.2 Jellybean – meaning the entire screen can be saved for display content.
The device’s 3,600mAh battery is said to last for up to eight hours when playing video. The Lite is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, and features an integrated two-megapixel rear-facing camera.
Software included with the device includes the Smile Shot, Shoot and Share and Panorama photography features, the Samsung Apps app marketplace and Samsung Link, which allows sharing of content across a number of devices.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Lite will be available in black and white. Details of UK availability are yet to be reavealed.
