Android powered gaming console Ouya is to receive a comprehensive user interface redesign this month, its creator has announced.
A spokesperson for Ouya told Engadget that the updated interface is designed to make it easier to discover new games. The interface will place a greater focus on displaying cover art for games and make menu headers smaller to compensate.
The update will also introduce support for USB storage devices, as well as the ability to download and queue games from the web. Additionally, custom recommendations will be delivered through a tweaked system menu.
Ouya hasn't confirmed an official release date for the update, only that it will launch this month.
In our Ouya review we criticised the console for its "lack of a visible download queue, the zero visibility of prices in store, the horrible controller lag, the weak Wi-Fi receiver and the blocks on fully expanding the storage". But we also said that, with regular updates, the system could yet realise its potential.
