Two versions of Nvidia’s Shield Android TV box will go on sale in the UK tomorrow.
The 16GB SKU will retail for £149.99 while the 500GB SKU will cost £219.99. Also available are the Shield Remote (£39.99) and stand (£24.99), while additional gamepads will cost £49.99.
Also included in the purchase is three months access to GeForce Now, which the company describes as ‘Netflix for games’. Subscriptions cost £7.49 per month, for which users gain streaming access a library of some 50 PC games including The Witcher 3, Mad Max and Batman: Arkham Origins.
Non-gaming features of the device include 4K video streaming from services such as Netflix.
“Shield is a fantastic, easy to use product – letting you use just one device for all your living room entertainment,” Nvidia’s EMEAI VP Jaap Zuiderveld said. “Music, TV and film have already been transformed by streaming. With GeForce Now, we are bringing that same disruption to games at simply incredible value.”
