Gets the all clear following trademark battle over the 'iPad' name.
Apple has received the green light to launch the new iPad in China, four months after it was revealed to the rest of the world.
It follows a $60m lawsuit with Chinese firm Proview Technology, which retained the rights to the 'iPad' name in its home country when Apple originally sought ownership of the trademark in 2009.
But now, the Retina display-enabled quad-core device will hit the world's largest mobile phone market on Friday, July 20th.
It's a move that will likely reinvigorate sales, given that the Chinese love Apple products. Beijing-based shoppers went feral when the iPhone 4S was released in January, taking to streets to riot and egg stores when Apple staff refused to sell the phones for fear of overcrowding.
