Apple's pre-order option prevented locals from become egg-wielding lunatics again.
The citizens of Beijing went crackers the last time an Apple product launched in China, causing anarchy as they tried to get their hands on the iPhone 4S.
However, Reuters says today's debut of the new iPad in the country has been free of madness, with orderly queues forming in Shanghai and former egging scene, Beijing.
This is due to Apple initiating an online reservation system to avoid a repeat performance.
The launch comes after the iOS device maker was embroiled in a$60m lawsuit with Proview Technology about use of the iPad name in China.
