If Google can get its strategy correct.
Talking at the MWC, Google chief Eric Schmidt revealed that despite the firm's desirable position, around five billion people around the world still haven't completed a Google search.
Additionally, he said that Android phones will reach feature phone prices next year as part of the "universal smartphone revolution".
Schmidt, claims: "A mobile experience at least at the level of today will be available to almost everybody, at a fraction of the price. In 12 years, handsets are going to be 20 times faster, which means phones that cost $400 now will be available for $20. If Google gets this right, there will be an Android in every pocket. At our current growth rate, this is possible.”
He also went on to say that future plans will bring its Chrome browser and the Android OS closer together.
This week's MWC coverage is kindly sponsored by Neomobile, the leader in mobile commerce services. Neomobile is active in 70 geographies from 12 offices in Europe, LatAm and India. It offers a variety of mobile payment services via its Onebip mobile payment solution, featuring frictionless one-click mobile flow.
