With brand new adventure Tales of Monkey Island heading to PC tomorrow, classic point-and-click outing Secret of Monkey Island destined for Xbox Live next week and loads of LucasArts games scheduled for Steam soon, it would be rude not to invite Apple’s iPhone to the party, right?
That’s the thinking of Joystiq, who goaded a semi-confession out of LucasArts CEO Darrell Rodriguez.
“On iPhone, you know Apple's policy that we can't talk about a release until it's ready to release,” he stated.
“But it would make sense that we would do something like that if we were to go in that direction… wink wink, nod nod.”
Of course, Rodriguez could be referring to any one of his firm’s back catalogue. But who’s honestly going to believe that it’s Star Wars: Battlefront and a touchscreen-friendly SCUMM RPG that’s currently being lined up for release.
Don’t be too surprised to see the likes of Monkey Island, Fate of Atlantis and even Grim Fandango making the move to iPhone very soon.
1990’s classic The Secret of Monkey Island will be released on Xbox Live Arcade next week, whilst brand new outing Tales of Monkey Island arrives on PC tomorrow.
