Minecraft creator Markus Persson has revealed that he is to bring the building and survival indie game to iPhone and iPad. GamaSutra obtained confirmation of the new version, with Persson claiming that mobile Minecraft will only contain features and updates which "make sense" for touch-based controls. The digitally-distributed game has sold over 1 million copies since its soft launch in 2009, and currently remains at beta stage. One-man creator Persson was able to found his own studio, Mojang Specifications, as a result of Minecraft's initial success - achieved entirely without advertising or a publisher.
