Following the launch of Office Mobile in the US, Microsoft has launched the productivity suite for iPhone users here in the UK.
Through the use of their Office 365 subscription, users are able to access the popular suite's multiple applications, including Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
Subscribers of the 365 service will not only be able to view these documents, but will have the functionality to edit them on their iPhone handset, whilst any changes made to documents are saved and synced with the cloud.
Whilst the application is free on the Apple store, it requires an Office 365 subscription, which is available for £7.99 per month or £79.99 per year in order to log into the mobile service.
However, iPad users will continue to be disappointed as Microsoft recently confirmed the app would not be appearing on the Apple tablet, and there doesn't seem to be any initial plans to port the suite over.
Also missing from Office Mobile is the inclusion of both Outlook and OneNote on the iPhone edition of the suite.
Whilst previously keeping the Office software firmly close to its chest, Microsoft has since changed its stance by pushing the software onto the rival iPhone in an attempt to boost subscriptions for its Office 365 service by opening it up to a wider variety of customers.
