Boys in blue use 'Find My iPhone' to locate robbers.
Police officers from a station in Havering, Greater London responded to an emergency call from a 15-year-old that had his iPhone stolen.
During questioning of the victim, the officers found that he had downloaded the 'Find My iPhone' app.
Upon registration, the app, which is also compatible with iPad and iPod Touch allows the user to locate the device on a map. Once located, the user can remotely lock the device or erase all content from it.
PCs Nicholas Tunge and Pete Stallard proceed to log into the system and track the stolen phone to an address in neighbouring Dagenham where two suspects were identified and arrested.
Insp. Cowley the Duty Officer, said: "This was a fantastic piece of policing using the very latest modern technology. The victim had suffered a nasty crime but was pleased with the service that my officers provided. I am immensely proud of their work."
