Use your Google account to find your phone and keep all your data safe.
With the new Android device manager, any lost device - running on Android 2.2 or above - can be located and called.
Phones get lost, it is one of those inevitabilities in life. Whether its been left in a bar, on the train or even found its way into the deep, dark depths of the sofa - it will happen.
Similar to Apple's 'find my iPhone' the Android equivalent locates the device via a Google account, informs the owner of its exact whereabouts, and if it is nearby gives the phone a call at maximum volume - even if on silent.
Any data left on a device need not fall into the wrong hands, as the device manager gives the option of clearing the phone of all personal information quickly and securely.
The service will be available later this month, along with an Android App to enable users to manage all their Android devices.
