An International Trade Commission judge has stated that Samsung has infringed upon a text-selection feature in an Apple patent, using the technology in its tablets and smartphones. Reuters reports that the full commission must now decide if they will uphold it or overturn the judge's decision, with a final decision expected this summer. If the preliminary decision is upheld, Samsung devices could be barred from import into the US.
The judge also concluded that Samsung did not infringe on another Apple patent that allows devices to detect if microphones have been plugged in.
The Apple-Samsung patent wars have grown lengthy and drawn-out (see a million and one stories under our patent tag) - now the wait is on to see how Samsung strikes back.
