AdMob's latest monthly Mobile Metrics report reveals that iPhone and Android together now account for 42% of ad requests on its network.
That shows how dominant the two platforms are over rivals, since 46% of AdMob's requests come from smartphones - i.e. only 4% come from OS' that aren't iPhone or Android.
AdMob has also broken out its iPad ad requests for May 2010, revealing that 58% of them came from the US, followed by Japan (5%), the UK (4%), China (4%) and Canada (3%).
The company also says that 92 countries generated more than 10 million monthly requests in May 2010, up from 27 two years ago.
However, this is the last Mobile Metrics report from AdMob, following its acquisition by Google.
"We plan to continue sharing data that will help everyone in the industry, but will take a break from issuing the Mobile Metrics Report while we consider how to re-invent the report to make it more useful and relevant," says the company.
However, it will maintain its Mobile Metrics Blog, and post data there.
