Doubling the efforts of the 4S.
iPhone 5 is the tech buzzword of the moment, and Apple says the device notched up more than two million pre-orders in a day. It doubles the one million strong advanced demand for the iPhone 4S and more than triples the 600,000 iPhone 4 pre-orders.
Demand is currently exceeding the initial supply and many devices aren't likely to arrive to buyers until October, despite a September 21st release date.
Philip Schiller, senior VP of worldwide marketing, Apple, said: "iPhone 5 pre-orders have shattered the previous record held by iPhone 4S and the customer response to iPhone 5 has been phenomenal.
"iPhone 5 is the best iPhone yet, the most beautiful product we’ve ever made, and we hope customers love it as much as we do.”
The jury is out on whether Apple can maintain its popularity with such little innovation, but the hunger for the fruity devices seems to be insatiable at the moment. http://www.mobile-ent.biz/news/read/...4-hours/019391
