For all of the clamour surrounding Siri, critics remain undecided whether the virtual assistant is up to scratch. Either way, Apple's move into voice has been echoed by China Mobile, Google, LG,Samsung, among others.
Now, 9to5Mac reports Siri will get a revamp on the iOS 6.1 update, sporting a new feature allowing users to book film tickets through movie bookings service, Fandango.
Interestingly, the news comes following the appointment ofAmazon's former search and navigation chief as the new head of Siri.
Developers claim the service, currently in beta trials, will be compatible for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch.
Just tell Siri you want to see Breaking Dawn: Part Two and the app will get to work by providing nearby cinema information and show times. The user will then be redirected to the Fandango app to complete the transaction.
Of course, they could always just go straight to the Fandango app and buy a ticket in just a few swipes to bypass Siri altogether.
The feature will only be available to the US, so it seems Apple is still prioritising its American customers, something that was noted at the original launch of Siri when overseas customers couldn't make use of the location-based functionality.
Meanwhile, Fandango recently expanded its mobile ticketing platform on a massive scale to support 300 new cinemas.
