Google's Moto X is 'always listening'

Motorola, which is now owned by Google, has unveiled its Moto X smartphone, which is always listening for voice commands.
The Moto X is the first device to have been designed from scratch since Google acquired Motorola last year. It is also the first smartphone to be manufactured in the US and will offer customers extensive customisation options.
Those wanting to buy the phone can customise it through the Moto Maker online studio, where they will be able to choose which colour scheme they’d like and decide on various other details.
Motorola boasts that the Moto X will offer 24 hours of battery life, despite the microphone permanently listening for its user to say ‘OK Google Now’, which will cause the smartphone to start searching the web.
Along with the ‘always-on’ rumours turning out to be true, the Moto X also features the function to access the camera by flicking your wrist – another popular rumour that was making the rounds before the device's launch.
Other standard specs include a 4.7-inch 1280x720 AMOLED screen, 2GB of RAM, 10MP rear camera, 2MP front camera, Android 4.3 and no removable storage.
The Moto X will be release in the US, Canada and Latin America sometime late August/early September, costing $199 (£130). There is currently no news about a UK release date.
