A new App on the iPhone serves up details from the Steam community to your iPod Touch or phone.
Gears includes three pages of information from Steam accounts for $3.
The App has you type in a Steam nickname and then displays the user's avatar, location, online status and bi-weekly gameplay stats. Another page breaks down the user's friends and their current online status, which is updated automatically.
Finally, the Games page lets you view the user's page, gameplay time and hop to the Steam website to read up on the game or purchase it.
The interface does a good job of streamlining a lot of data from Steam, though it would be nice to see it incorporate new functions, like chat or messaging, in future iterations. Since you don't need to type in a password to access a user's account information, I suspect any deep functionality would have to come with the help of Valve.
