FPS masters 'hoping to surprise people' with carefree puzzle game
Crytek, the Frankfurt headquartered triple-A studio famous for its work on PC and console, has revealed its first dedicated smartphone title.
The new project, called Fibble Flick ‘n’ Roll, is a physics-based puzzle title that is due for a Spring 2012 release.
Crytek has not yet announced a smartphone edition of its CryEngine, though the company has in the past made several indications that it will eventually support mobiles with its tech.
“Going mobile is an incredibly exciting step for us as a game development company,” said Crytek CEO Cevat Yerli.
“The way that people play games on mobile devices is a real blessing. This allows us to get back to our roots, experiment and focus our energy on creating great gameplay experiences while still keeping Crytek’s high production values,” he added.
The new project breaks Crytek tradition of releasing triple-A games with high production values specifically on core consoles. The broader audience appeal of Fibble can be found on the game’s official website.
