Gameloft has already brought Marvel's The Amazing Spider-Man and Iron Man 3 properties from the big screen to mobile game form, and will now do the same for the forthcoming Thor: The Dark World.
Users will don the red cape of the titular God of Thunder, Thor, in the freemium iOS/Android game across 100 missions against the Marauders and Dark Elves.
Players will be supported by fellow Asgardians and team members the Warriors Three, while the game is an original story co-written by Marvel writer Christopher Yost.
Karine Kaiser, VP Marketing & Licensing at Gameloft, said: "We are delighted to continue our excellent collaboration with Marvel. Developing official games from Marvel's cinematic blockbusters and bringing the fans an immersive experience in a superhero world inspires us every time."
In related news, Gameloft's Despicable Me 2 game released with Universal recently topped 50m downloads in one month. Thor: The Dark World -The Official Game will be released in conjunction with the film in November.
