Sports Interactive has managed to squeeze the pub-classic, Football Manager Quiz, onto mobile phones, and is rolling it out across major networks now.
It's a mass market venture for the previously PC and Xbox 360 restricted developer, something to help ease new users into to the world of football simulation.
The aim of the game is to score a goal by answering a string of correct questions, which advances you towards the opponents penalty area on a grid-like pitch. Get a question wrong and the opposing team will gain posession, keep answering correctly and you'll score. Simple.
All the top teams from Europe are included, and you can play through League, Quickfire and Quizzmaster modes. There are over 1,000 questions for each top Euro championship, so you shouldn't run out of trivia any time soon.
"FM Quiz was too much fun to just have it restricted to being played on a pub quiz machine, hence the move to mobile," Miles Jacobson, managing director of Sports Interactive told Eurogamer. "It's our first mobile phone release, and we're really happy with the results - it's just plain old fun!"
Perhaps this will lay the foundations for a fully-fledged Football Manager Mobile title. We can but hope.
