Starting today, developers interested in building apps for Mozilla's Firefox OS can buy the first handsets running the open source platform.
Geekphone, the Spanish firm manufacturing the phones, has unveiled two different models – the Keon and the Peak.
The Keon is an entry-level smartphone with a Qualcomm S1 Cortex A5 processor running at 1GHz. It features a 3.5-inch HVGA 480x320 touchscreen and ships with 512MB RAM, 4GB ROM, MicroSD card slot, and a 1580mAh battery.
The Peak is a higher-end model with a larger 4.3-inch IPS qHD 960x540 touchscreen and a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor clocked at 1.2GHz. The smartphone comes with the same RAM and ROM as the Keon.
The Keon will cost $119 and the Peak is priced at $194. Geekphone will ship both developer devices to anywhere in the world, those interested in getting their hands on one can do so by visiting shop.geekphone.com.
