The CEO of the Financial Times newspaper told his 1,800 employees in a memo Thursday he will give anyone who buys an iPad or other tablet a reimbursement of £300 (about $480 US). In the memo, CEO John Ridding said the company was "making this investment because digital channels and tablet devices are becoming increasingly important for us."
The FT's iPad app has 40,000 registered users, which represent 10 percent of the paper's digital subscriptions, and has made £1 million from sales of in-app advertisements since it was launched in May. The strategy in trying to get its own employees hooked on iPads seems to be both a way to get more feedback on the app
