US developer Appy Entertainment says its FaceFighter series of iOS games have been downloaded more than 3.8 million times. That includes both free downloads of FaceFighter Lite, and paid downloads of FaceFighter, FaceFighter Gold and iPad spin-off FaceFighter HD Face2Face.
Appy also says that nearly 33 million individual sessions have been played on the games, adding up to more than 250 man-years of playtime.
Meanwhile, players are sharing 2,500 images a day collectively on email, Facebook and Twitter.
The game lets people create a boxer with the face of a friend, via a photo-import feature, then batter the living daylights out of them, sharing the bruises for posterity.
The game was originally released in June last year, and Appy says updates are on the way for all the existing games, with a new title coming in Autumn.
