Social network giant to promote selected titles to its 800 million monthly mobile users
Facebook has revealed a new mobile game publishing pilot program aimed at helping small and medium-sized developers.
The new initiative will see the social networking giant provide promotional support to “high-potential” developers for their titles in placements across its mobile apps.
Facebook plans to harness its 800 million monthly users on mobile and 260 million game players on its social network to help promote new titles around the world.
It said its aim is for games to reach people who already play them, highlighting strategy titles to users playing strategy games for example.
“We are invested in the success of these games, and in exchange for a revenue share, we will be collaborating deeply with developers in our program by helping them attract high-quality, long-term players for their games,” said Facebook software engineer Victor Medeiros.
