Apple has rebutted a legal complaint about its Siri personal assistant by telling the plaintiffs that they should have returned their phones.
An American customer, who alleges that the advertisements for the service are misleading and deceptive, filed a lawsuit in March this year.
The complaint says that the ads, which show people making appointments, finding restaurants, looking up points of social etiquette and finding text messages are “contrary to the actual operating results and performance of Siri.”
According to the Wall Street Journal, a motion to dismiss the case was filed by Apple’s attorneys, which reads:
“They offer only general descriptions of Apple’s advertisements, incomplete summaries of Apple’s website materials, and vague descriptions of their alleged – and highly individualized – disappointment with Siri. Tellingly, although Plaintiffs claim they became dissatisfied with Siri’s performance ‘soon after’ purchasing their iPhones, they made no attempt to avail themselves of Apple’s 30-day return policy or one-year warranty – which remains in effect.”
