The European Commission has called for members to look into claims that Apple has failed to inform its customers of their right to product warranties.
Consumers across Europe have long complained that Apple has pushed its own product care services in favour of statutory protections, which they are entitled to by law.
Europe's Justice Commissioner Viviane Reding has asked member states to investigate into the claims and ensure that Apple is clearly offering mandatory two-year minimum warranties to its customers.
Apple states that its service provides customers with different protections.
It would not be the first time Apple found themselves in hot water over consumer rights, as the firm was fined £750,000 by Italian competition authorities back in 2011 as it was decided they had done too little to notify users of their rights under EU consumer laws. http://www.pcr-online.biz/news/read/...igation/029279
