Apple App Store approaches 50 billion app downloads

Releases all-time app charts and offers $10,000 gift card to mark the milestone.
Say what you like about Apple, but the company becomes rather generous when it approaches big milestones, and the imminent 50 billionth app download from the App Store will be given the traditional fanfare.
The iPhone maker says the downloader that takes it to the big 50 will receive a $10,000 App Store gift card, while anyone to download one of the first 50 apps after that will pocket a $500 App Store gift card.
Additionally, with Apple feeling so nostalgic, the company has released the UK's Top All-Time most popular free and paid apps:
