Apple has announced a new iPad and iPad Mini alongside fresh MacBook Pros and more.
The new iPad Air weighs one pound, and is powered by a 64-bit Apple A7 processing chip, which was said to have twice the performance of the iPad 4 and runs 72 times faster than the original iPad. The M7 motion processor chip, found in the iPhone 5S, is also in the iPad Air.
The tablet has a five megapixel iSight camera, which can record HD video, two microphones for FaceTime, and is available in silver, white, black and Space Grey. The battery life is equal to that of its predecessors – 10 hours. It will be released on November 1st, starting at $499 (£308).
The new iPad Mini features Apple’s Retina display, meaning that it has the same resolution as the iPad Air. Also shared with the iPad Air is the A7 chip, giving it a four-times processor and eight-times graphics boost over the old iPad Mini, which has been reduced to $299 (£184).
The new iPad Mini, like the iPad Air, will be available in silver, white, Space Grey and black, and will start at $399 (£246) when it’s released “later in November”.
Apple also showed off a new Mac Pro, held a demonstration of OS X Mavericks and the news of a series of free updates for its iLife apps.
