As the Samsung/Apple patent trial draws to a close, the US tech giant accuses Samsung of abusing its ‘monopoly power’.
Apple experts claim Samsung abused the power gained by its ownership of wireless patents, and demanded unreasonable royalties from Apple for the use of the patents in Apple’s iPhone, hurting the smartphone’s commercial prospects.
These accusations come as the two sides presented their last pieces of evidence on Friday.
During the firms’ testimony time, Apple attempted to put in a list of 75 witnesses in a 25-hour timeframe. Judge Lucy Koh was not too happy about this and commented that unless Apple’s lawyer was smoking crack, he had to know he wasn’t getting all those people on the stand.
Samsung accuses Apple of infringing on a number of its patents, meanwhile Apple accuses the Korean tech company of copying the design and some features of its iPad and iPhone.
Closing arguments and jury deliberations are set to begin this week. http://www.pcr-online.biz/news/read/...ars-end/028974
